What we’re looking for:

We are looking for an exceptional individual with extensive experience creating and maintaining rich user interfaces, implementing UI & visual designs for consumer-centric products.

The Platform UI Engineer will partner with other architects, engineers and technology decision-makers to guide the overall direction of the user interface layer and will work closely with Product Design, Technical Leads, Application Architects, Software Engineers and Stakeholders in a highly collaborative environment. The Platform UI team is responsible for the continued development of the Oxygen Component Library and the microfrontend architecture.

What you’ll do at 8x8:

Lead and direct UI team and collaborate with UX designers, UI software engineers, designers and product design.
Perform closely with product management plus accessibility and usability experts to present compelling user experiences.
Design microfrontend UI framework, modules and its API interfaces.
Design innovative plus intuitive look and feel of next-generation UI.
Collaborate with design, product management as well as UI engineers.
Design entire technical architecture of microfrontend framework along with pluggable modules.
Ensure to advocate for user-centric research and best in class accessibility plus user experience.
Design to organisation using strategic relationships, presentations and influence.
Head development inclusive to the agile team to execute key User Interface aspects.
Collect requirements for user interface research.
Recommend processes, services, software and other tools to support business objectives pertinent to user interfaces as well as infrastructure technologies.
Ensure to understand needs as well as disparate technologies existing in use through product engagement plus drive towards convergence.
Ensure to guide process and technology adoption to assure apt QA testing of User Interface components and applications.
Contribute to enhance the design process.
Collaborate extensively with accessibility.
Plan and execute usability evaluation along with testing across UI development stages.

What you bring to the team:

8+ years of experience in Frontend development
Proven experience with Javascript design patterns
Experience working with React.js
Solid knowledge of npm|yarn|pnpm
Good understanding of Monorepo design and architecture
Experience working with Microfrontend architecture and implementation
Experience working with CI/CD, Cypress test automation, GitHub Actions & Workflow
Familiar with Webpack module federation
Effectively communicate with multi-regional teams and colleagues to help them solve frontend technology issues
Ability to mentor and help coworkers find innovative frontend solutions
Good written and verbal communication skills in English
