The Accountant will provide overall support for the accounting department at 8x8. This position plays a primary role in the monthly, quarterly, and annual close cycles as well as help ensure the accounting records are maintained in full compliance with Company regulations and the Fiscal Code provisions.

Job Summary

The role will be for an NASDAQ listed MNC, responsible for India, US Accounting and other entities within the groups worldwide subsidiaries (wws).

This role to ensure that the entities as required be compliant with accounting standards, Reconciliations and all the statutory requirements i.e. Tax Deduction at Source, Annual Stat Audit, Tax Audit, TP audit and so on, however this not limited to the above + other world-wide entities accounting as and when required to be taken up.

Have a sound and good knowledge and experience in using advanced Excel abilities as well as knowledge in accounting procedures, including helping in preparing month-end reports.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Accountable for month end close of India entity + world-wide entities Communicating the progress to the Manager / Team Lead and to all key stakeholders on a regular basis. Timely completion of work without compromising on quality. Expected shift timing could be based on multiple time zones.

Education

• Bachelor of Commerce / Accounting / Finance

Relevant Experience

• Must have relevant experience working in MNC environment

• Hands on Experience in handling Accounting as per the Accounting standards followed which covers India, US + Other Countries as needed

• Advanced Excel Abilities

• Prepare and record assets, liabilities, revenue, expenses, Bank recons covering multiple banks, maintain and balances subsidiary ledgers by verifying, allocating, posting and reconciling transactions and resolving discrepancies (Balance sheet items reconciliations)

• Should have working knowledge in Netsuites is desirable

• Should have handled multiple entities accounting during the month and at month end close including US

• Should have operated in multiple financial systems and process

• India specific, hands-on experience in GST, Statutory Audit, Tax Audit, TP Audit, IT Filing and other statutory functions.

• India specific, working knowledge of other Statutory compliances working knowledge is essential which would include Tax Deduction at Source (TDS), Provident Fund (PF) & Employee State Insurance (ESI) (if applicable), Professional Tax (PF), Shops and Establishment Regulations

• Ensure all Reconciliations are provided on a scheduled timely basis

• Fixed Assets reconciliations, verification and control

• Preparations of various schedules and financial disclosures for MIS, tax authorities as needed
