As a Lead Business Intelligence Developer, you will be responsible for leading the design, development, and implementation of interactive data visualizations and dashboards using Tableau. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, define key performance indicators, and transform complex data sets into actionable insights that drive business decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

Dashboard Development:

  • Design, develop, and maintain interactive Tableau dashboards and visualizations that meet the needs of stakeholders across the organization.

  • Ensure dashboards are user-friendly, visually appealing, and provide meaningful insights into business performance.

Data Analysis and Modeling:

  • Collaborate with data engineers and business analysts to understand data sources, perform data profiling, and prepare data for analysis.

  • Create and optimize data models and data extracts in Tableau to ensure high performance and efficiency.

Requirements Gathering:

  • Engage with business leaders and stakeholders to gather requirements, understand business processes, and identify key metrics and KPIs for reporting.

  • Translate business requirements into technical specifications and develop solutions that meet those needs.

Best Practices and Standards:

  • Establish and enforce best practices for Tableau development, including design standards, data governance, and performance optimization techniques.

  • Conduct code reviews and quality assurance to ensure high-quality deliverables.

Team Leadership and Collaboration:

  • Guide a team of BI developers and analysts, providing technical guidance, mentoring, and support to enhance their skills and performance.

  • Collaborate with other teams such as data engineering, IT, and business intelligence to implement end-to-end reporting solutions.

User Training and Support:

  • Train end-users on Tableau dashboards and reporting tools, ensuring they understand how to utilize the data effectively.

  • Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for existing dashboards and assist users as needed.

Performance Monitoring and Optimization:

  • Monitor the performance of dashboards and reports, identifying areas for improvement and implementing enhancements.

  • Address any data quality issues, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of the data displayed.

Stay Abreast of Industry Trends:

  • Keep updated on the latest Tableau features, trends in data visualization, and best practices in BI development.

  • Explore new tools and technologies to enhance the organization's data visualization capabilities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • Current, Active, Tableau Certified Architect OR Tableau Certified Data Analyst certification

  • 5+ years of experience in data visualization and business intelligence, with a strong focus on Tableau development.

  • Expertise in Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server, including experience with Tableau Prep and Tableau Online.

  • Proficiency in SQL and data manipulation, with experience working with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, etc.).

  • Strong analytical skills with a data-driven mindset and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present findings and influence stakeholders.

  • Experience in leading teams and managing projects, with a focus on delivering high-quality results within deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with big data technologies and data warehousing concepts is a plus.

  • Experience with programming languages such as Python or R for advanced data analytics is a plus.
