About Acoustic
Acoustic is a behavioral intelligence and marketing platform helping enterprise brands understand, predict, and act on customer behavior in real time. Our Behavioral Insights tribe builds the systems — signals, scoring, analytics — that give marketers a true picture of buyer intent and engagement across channels.
About the Role
Design at Acoustic operates at the intersection of speed and craft. We work in close partnership with Engineering, moving fluidly across research, prototyping, and iteration — often in parallel rather than in sequence. Our process is collaborative by default and comfortable with ambiguity: we shape ideas early, adapt quickly, and treat handoff as a conversation rather than a conclusion.
In this role you will operate in two modes simultaneously: reactive — giving real-time design feedback and consultation as engineers build rapidly — and proactive — defining a cohesive 3–6 month design vision that keeps the product moving in a coherent direction. You will work across Acoustic Connect and our legacy Tealeaf platform, contributing to features that surface behavioral intelligence in clear, trustworthy, and delightful ways.
What You'll Do
- Pair directly with engineers as they build — providing in-the-moment design direction, feedback, and polish rather than waiting for formal handoff cycles.
- Set and maintain a 3–6-month design north star for your feature areas, using rapid prototypes and lightweight artifacts to align teams and create momentum.
- Own end-to-end design for complex product surfaces — dashboards, behavioral analytics, audience management, campaign workflows, and reporting.
- Use AI-assisted tools (Claude, Figma, no-code builders) to prototype quickly, explore ideas, and contribute to last-mile implementation polish.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and AI researchers to shape product vision and make fast, well-grounded design decisions.
- Build and maintain design systems that create consistency and quality across Acoustic Connect and Tealeaf surfaces.
- Develop models and frameworks to support both UX research and rapid design iteration — treating AI as a creative collaborator in your own practice.
How We Work
Design at Acoustic is small, embedded, and high trust. You will have real ownership and real impact. We believe the best designers right now are those who understand both the old discipline and the new reality: that mocks and visual exploration still matter deeply, that human taste and accountability are not replaceable, and that the fastest path to great design often runs straight through the codebase.
We use Claude, Figma, and a growing suite of AI tools in our daily design process. You should be comfortable in this environment — or excited to get there fast.
- 5+ years of product design experience, ideally in B2B SaaS, enterprise software, or developer/analytics tools.
- Adaptability over process purity. You iterate in the open, ship early to learn, and do not require everything to be fully defined before contributing.
- Comfort pairing with engineers in real time — not just handing off comps, but working collaboratively as features are being built.
- Technical curiosity and hands-on tool fluency — experience prototyping with Claude (or similar AI tools), Figma, v0, or similar tools to bring ideas to life quickly.
- Strong design craft: you care about the pixels, the typography, the copy, and the edge cases — and you find ways to maintain that care while moving fast.
Strong differentiators
- A portfolio that shows things you built and shipped — not just things you designed.
- Genuine curiosity about AI tools, agentic products, and what it means to design for behavioral intelligence.
- Experience designing complex data-heavy interfaces: analytics dashboards, reporting surfaces, or signal/scoring workflows.
- Comfort with ambiguity — you can set direction even when the product and roadmap are still taking shape.
- Prototyping in front-end code (HTML/CSS/JS) is a meaningful plus.
