Role Summary:

At AdvancedMD, we are dedicated to empowering healthcare providers with innovative solutions that enhance patient care and streamline operations. As our Sr. Tax Accountant, you'll play a crucial role in supporting our mission by managing all tax-related matters, including sales and use tax, income tax, and state registrations. You'll also assist with month-end close processes and financial statement analysis, ensuring our financial health aligns with our values of integrity, excellence, and collaboration.

We're looking for someone with extensive tax experience, particularly in sales and use tax, and a solid understanding of general accounting principles. If you have experience in a SaaS company and are proficient in Excel, we'd love to have you join our team and contribute to our mission of transforming healthcare through technology.

Essential Job Duties

Tax Management:

• • Manage and file sales and use tax returns
  • Collaborate with the outside tax firm on various tax filings
  • Ensure timely filing of all tax returns
  • Work with outside tax firm on income tax provision, estimates, extensions, and annual filings
  • Manage all aspects of tax compliance, including leading any audit work

Month-End Close and Financial Analysis:

• Assist with month-end close processes
• Conduct financial statement analysis
• Assist AP/AR with sales tax invoicing and payments
• Support general accounting tasks as needed

Performance Management:

• Ensure the timely filing of all tax returns
• Successfully complete month-end close processes
• Stay current with state and federal tax accounting changes and laws

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required
• 3-5 years of professional level work experience in tax field.
• Extensive knowledge of tax, particularly sales and use tax
• Basic knowledge of income tax and experience working with tax forms
• Proficiency in Excel
• Industry experience in a software technology company is preferred -- Software as a service (SaaS) is preferred. General accounting knowledge
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in order to prepare and explain financial data to business leaders and managers, team members, clients, internal and external auditors, and other business contacts
• Highly developed organizational and prioritizing abilities, with prior administrative management expertise
• Proficiency with software such as NetSuite and Avalara
