We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive People Operations Specialist to join our growing People team. In this role, your primary responsibility will be managing and processing payroll across our 600+ team members, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness. You will also support a broad range of Total Rewards initiatives, including benefits administration, compensation programs, HRIS management, employee wellness, and compliance reporting.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys operational precision, cross-functional collaboration, and helping scale people systems in a fast-paced tech environment.
Essential Job Duties
Payroll Administration (Primary Focus)
- Process bi-weekly payroll for 600+ employees across multiple states, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
- Validate and reconcile time-tracking, PTO, and variable compensation inputs in collaboration with managers and finance.
- Address payroll-related inquiries with accuracy, timeliness, and confidentiality.
- Maintain accurate payroll records and support audits and compliance reviews.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure data integrity across payroll and HR systems.
Total Rewards & People Operations Support
- Assist with the administration and open enrollment of employee benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, and 401(k) plans.
- Support compensation operations, including job benchmarking, pay band maintenance, and periodic compensation reviews.
- Maintain and troubleshoot HRIS data accuracy; generate custom reports and insights on employee data and rewards metrics.
- Contribute to wellness programming and employee engagement initiatives.
- Assist with documentation and process improvements related to compliance, audits, and policy adherence.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on payroll experience; multi-state payroll experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Paylocity, or similar) and HRIS platforms.
- Understanding of employee benefits administration and compensation concepts.
- High attention to detail, with a commitment to accuracy and confidentiality.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills.

- Strong Excel skills; experience with data analytics tools is a plus.
- CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) or FPC (Fundamental Payroll Certification).
- Experience working in a fast-paced or startup environment.

Work Environment
- Hybrid office arrangement to start in the South Jordan, Utah office location, with option to work remotely available. Remote work is contingent upon individual role, team structure and alignment to role KPIs.
