BARBRI is looking for an entrepreneurial and dynamic professional driven by the mission of making education more accessible for law students. We are looking for smart, articulate, and innovative problem-solvers to join a great team. The Operations Specialist (Education) will work closely with partner schools, law students, and others to manage the delivery of effective online courses and programs. This person will manage all aspects of online course delivery, focusing on building relationships with faculty and students. This role is also responsible for tracking and implementing course modifications, tracking attendance, working with faculty to ensure proper course setup and student engagement, ensuring enrollment, access, and appropriate content for all participants, and working with the partner schools to ensure a high level of service.

In addition, the Operations Specialist will have excellent communication skills and will help deliver retention contact strategies and build a supportive relationship with students, to keep students on track and help them stay engaged and hold students accountable to enrollment processes and deadlines. The Operations Specialist works collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to implement workflow protocols and operational processes to ensure program quality, timelines, and project initiatives are met in support of our collective goal of delivering on BARBRI’s mission exceeding partner expectations. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, agile, and good with data and reporting, with a preferred knowledge of the Desire2Learn (D2L) learning management system.

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage implementation and maintenance of online course content in appropriate LMS in coordination with faculty and the BARBRI Instructional Design team
  • Develop and monitor schedules so that projects are completed on time with the highest quality and results in delivery of the programs
  • Proactively identify and resolve partner and implementation issues escalating partner needs and support as required
  • In conjunction with partner faculty, monitor the overall student experience, including academic and programmatic success to create and support a smooth end-to-end student experience
  • Effectively manage the cyclical demands of academic term launches specific to partner school calendars and high enrollment periods
  • Perform quality checks on all courses prior to launch including ensuring accessibility standards are met
  • Develop, review, and maintain systems and procedures to ensure course delivery aligns with required partner policies and procedures, as well as internal stakeholder requirements
  • Develop, recommend, and implement procedures and processes in support of recurring course delivery
  • Work to achieve optimal organizational efficiency and effectiveness, including developing initiatives to improve work processes and enhance systems
  • Ensure goals are met in areas like student satisfaction, faculty performance and completion rates
  • Monitor instructional quality and coordinate with instructional design specialists to provide on-going support to online faculty as needed to improve teaching effectiveness and student success
  • Onboard, train, and support new faculty on learning management platform and other instructional technologies utilized
  • Maintain collaborative and professional relationships with all functional areas and stakeholders related to the programs
  • Interact with partner schools regarding grading policies as necessary, ensuring accuracy of grading reports
  • Assist in executing action plans for student recruitment and registration, enrollment, orientation, retention, and student support.
  • Perform regular reviews of content with faculty to assess student engagement, gauge students’ understanding and plan for changes/modifications of subsequent iterations
  • Assist/manage invoicing activities with various partner schools
  • Assist in overseeing and facilitating student exam periods as necessary, including focusing on exam security and seamless process integration for students.
  • Goal oriented and competitive, setting and achieving, personal and team goals.
  • Strong expertise with MS Office, specifically Word and Excel, efficient in learning new software.
  • Ability to connect quickly and authentically with people from a variety of different professional and cultural backgrounds
  • Strong work ethic and positive attitude, with a willingness to be flexible
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Potential overnight travel assignments to assigned affiliated schools
  • Night and weekend support is often required for Tier 1 support items

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years’ experience in online or higher education environment including learning management systems, faculty engagement and quality assurance
  • Three years progressively responsible experience managing, administering, or coordinating online learning projects
  • Adaptable and able to develop a practical view to meet challenges and find solutions
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines in a fast paced and dynamic environment
  • Experience with large, multivariable projects and the ability to collaboratively work with cross-functional teams to successfully manage the work, set priorities, meet, or exceed partner expectations, and evaluate progress toward outcomes
  • Ability to work with adult learners with, diverse skill levels as well as diverse cultural and professional backgrounds
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills and active listening
  • Exercises judgment within defined procedures and policies to determine appropriate action
  • Strong work ethic and positive attitude, with a willingness to be flexible
  • Professional and resourceful style with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite required
  • Familiarity with various LMS systems, D2L preferred
  • Familiarity with FERPA rules and regulations
