We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Senior Manager, Renewals to lead and grow our North America Renewal Management team. This role is critical to driving customer retention, revenue growth, and operational excellence across our customer base. You will oversee a team of renewal managers, refine processes, and work cross-functionally with sales, customer success, and product teams to ensure a seamless renewal experience for our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

Renewal Team Leadership:

  • Lead and manage a team of 8+ renewal managers
  • Develop and execute strategies to drive high renewal rates and maximize customer retention.
  • Establish clear performance goals, metrics, and accountability for the renewal team

Process and Strategy Development:

  • Design, implement, and enforce renewal processes, cadences, and best practices.
  • Develop standardized renewal proposal templates (Word/PPT) to ensure consistency.
  • Build and maintain key metrics and reporting to track renewal performance and trends.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Partner with Sales, Customer Success Managers (CSMs), and Regional Sales Managers (RSMs) to align on account strategies.
  • Build strong relationships with the Sales Engineering (SE) team to ensure seamless collaboration and technical alignment during renewals.
  • Work with IT and Sales Operations to optimize tools such as Salesforce, Clari, and AI-driven insights.

Escalation Management:

  • Serve as the primary escalation point for high-value or at-risk renewals, collaborating with teams to resolve challenges.
  • Act as the “canary in the coal mine,” identifying early signs of renewal risks, underperformance, or operational inefficiencies.

Customer Retention and Growth:

  • Develop and execute strategies to minimize churn and identify upsell opportunities during the renewal process.
  • Analyze customer feedback and trends to continuously improve the renewal experience.

Requirements:

Experience:

  • 8+ years of experience in customer success, account management, or renewals, with 3+ years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record of driving high customer retention rates and revenue growth in a SaaS or technology environment.

Skills:

  • Strong leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to motivate and coach a diverse team.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across teams.
  • Data-driven mindset with experience in building and analyzing metrics and dashboards (e.g., Salesforce, Clari).
  • Expertise in contract negotiations, objection handling, and risk mitigation.

Tools:

  • Proficiency with Salesforce and renewal-focused tools (e.g., Clari, Gainsight).
  • Familiarity with AI-driven insights and CRM workflows.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA is a plus.

The base salary range across the U.S. for this role is between $111,000-$166700. In addition, this role is eligible for commission. Black Duck offers a competitive total rewards package. The actual compensation offered will be based on a number of job-related factors, including location, skills, experience, and education.
