The Senior Global Benefits Manager will analyze current benefits, and design, recommend, and implement new benefits for the organization, globally, across 21 countries, while interfacing with vendors, and internal and external customers. The Senior Manager is responsible for global leave of absence management and responding to overall employee inquiries.

DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develops, implements, and maintains cost control benefit programs and processes to maximize coverage with the lowest cost to the organization and employees.
  • Manages vendor relationships globally to ensure that services meet all expectations and are in accordance with policies, contracts, performance guarantees, regulatory compliance, and cost control objectives.
  • Maintains company compliance with all applicable Country, Federal, state, and local laws, including sick pay/leave laws, retirement requirements, and health & wellness regulations.
  • Project manage and lead the overall planning, development and execution of test plans/ test cases, communications, and overall delivery of US annual open enrollment and other global enrollments.
  • Partner with the carriers to test, communicate, and manage the US annual enrollment period for the non-qualified Deferred Compensation Plan. Respond to participant questions and escalations.
  • Leads roll-out of new benefit plans and plan changes globally by managing system testing/implementation process, configuration in the system, designing, and conducting training sessions, and documenting any processes or audits required because of the changes.
  • Own year-end updates to systems and data, working in tandem with payroll and HR Technology; assist the team with their own processes and reviews.
  • Leads all system data related to employee benefits plan eligibility and ensures that vendor files are accurate and error free.
  • Resolves escalated issues for employees.
  • Identifies process improvement opportunities and best practices. Update documentation and SOPs. Implement approved changes as appropriate.
  • Reviews and provides input to plan documents, benefit agreements and insurance policies, and partners with vendors to effect changes.
  • Supports the Total Rewards strategy through ensuring that our benefits help attract and retain the right talent.
  • Manages all invoices globally for benefit vendors.
  • Preparation of reports, testing and applications as required by law to be filed with country, federal, and state agencies (PCORI, TRF, 5500s, NDTs, and required notice distribution).

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • Global (including North America, APAC, and EMEA) experience working with employee benefit programs and vendors, supporting HRIS systems, vendor interfaces, and integrations.
  • Deep subject matter expertise in the areas of health & welfare plan design and implementation, operations and administration, preferably in-house administration and operations.
  • Deep subject matter expertise in regulatory and compliance matters including but not limited to HIPAA, ACA/ PCORI, ERISA, Non-Discrimination Testing, 5500s, and other related country/state/local laws.
  • Strong focus on supporting and educating participants and “customers” at all levels, with the ability to diffuse and manage escalated issues.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment, across departments (e.g., payroll, finance, treasury, HRIS, customer service, HRBPs, etc.).
  • Ability to perform research on benefits and escalations and present supported recommendations for process improvements.
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and be flexible.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, required.
  • Possess knowledge of legislation governing benefit plans (ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, PPACA)
  • Ability to identify and implement cost-effective financial programs.

NICE TO HAVE:

  • Professional HR certification through accrediting agencies such as CEBS, SHRM, HRCI, or World at Work preferred.
  • Experience with ADP Benefits Admin Module.
