About the Role
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our Bangalore office. In this role, you will support and enhance our global operations by setting up systems, installing and maintaining software, monitoring system health, and troubleshooting complex issues. You will work closely with teams in North America, playing a key role in maintaining and scaling our hybrid infrastructure.
This is an on-site position that offers the opportunity to work on diverse technologies, collaborate with global teams, and have a direct impact on the reliability and performance of mission-critical systems.
Location: Bangalore - Near Dairy Circle (Hybrid work model)
Key Responsibilities:
* Set up, configure, and maintain multiple operating systems.
* Develop and maintain robust Bash shell scripts for automation and operational tasks.
* Manage configuration and system orchestration using Ansible.
* Monitor system performance with Prometheus and Grafana, analyze issues, and proactively implement solutions to ensure high availability.
* Assist with infrastructure as code using Terraform.
* Support and enhance environments across AWS, GCP, OpenStack, and on-premises data centers.
* Collaborate effectively with North American teams.
* Demonstrate proactive problem-solving skills, while also knowing when to seek input or support.
* Contribute to process documentation and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
* 5+ years of hands-on experience in SRE, system administration, or related roles.
* Strong experience with Windows and multiple Linux distributions.
* Comfortable using and writing scripts in shells like Bash or Zsh.
* Excellent troubleshooting skills across diverse systems and platforms.
* Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and communicate clearly across time zones.
* Strong commitment to best practices and continual learning.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience with infrastructure and configuration as code tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
* MacOS, FreeBSD, AIX, and/or Solaris system administration.
* Practical experience with public cloud providers (AWS, GCP) and private clouds (OpenStack).
* Additional scripting or programming skills (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Perl) are a plus.
