Job Title: Director Agile Practices
Reports to: EVP, Product Engineering
Job Purpose: The Director Agile Practices is responsible for overseeing and managing the agile practices across the Product Engineering organization, driving forward best practices, training, and coaching to create high-performing Agile teams. The Director works closely with senior leadership, product and development teams, release managers, and other stakeholders across the business to ensure successful on-time and high-quality delivery of product solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead a team of Scrum Masters across multiple physical locations - including work assignment and tracking, career development, coaching and mentoring while also supplementing staff in that role as needed.
• Drive forward the organization's agile transformation strategy leveraging metrics and data to provide continuous improvements in operational processes.
• Serve in the role of "Agile Coach" through championing, training, and mentoring across the various teams and departments.
• Generate regular reporting including performance indicators and metrics, executive reporting and other ad-hoc reporting required by management.
• Coordinate and track project execution progress across the various product portfolios and scrum teams, ensuring dependencies are identified, impediments are resolved, and delivery timelines and commitments are met.
• Clearly define standard guidelines (e.g, DoD, SM, and PO qualifications and responsibilities).
• Collaborate with leadership team on portfolio governance for Scrum, Kanban, and other projects and facilitate the start or stop of teams based on investment decisions.
• Facilitates organizational learning, change management, and process adoption of Agile via metrics, benefits realization, outcomes, and retrospective findings.
Qualifications and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in business, Information Technology, Information Systems, or related field.
• 3+ years of large-scale Agile coaching experience with Scrum, Lean and Kanban methodologies
• Demonstrated prior success as an Agile Transformation leader in a Software Development organization of 100+ members.
• One or more related agile practitioner certifications such as Certified Scrum Master (CSM, CSP, PSM, PMI-ACP)
• Expert knowledge of software development lifecycle and software testing methodologies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and manage cross-functional teams.
• Experience with release management tools such as Jira, GitLab, or Azure DevOps.
• Experience working with and managing offshore, nearshore, or outsourced teams.
