Responsibilities:
The primary objective of the Manager – Specialty Operations position is to lead, manage and inspire a team of people that produce “raves” through their ongoing service and support for a broad range of clients across multiple specialized functional areas. The teams led by the Manager are generally transactional back-office functions that support a broader scope of benefits administration for a client.
Specialty Operations includes Verification services (dependents, life events, state waivers) Evidence of Insurability, QMCSO, COBRA, Billing. The Manager will have accountability for multiple functional areas within this scope.
The Manager, Specialty Operations drives execution. Adherence to service level agreements and key performance indicators is required. This role is accountable for managing a team that is required to deliver a consistent, high quality client experience. This role is responsible for proactive management, driving accountability and operational excellence.
This role is a people leader. You will be required to manage teammates’ performance, coaching and mentoring, hiring, etc. You may not manage all the people for whom you have accountability.
This role is remote and can be filled anywhere in the U.S. However, no matter the candidate’s geography, bswift operates with Central time zone expectations for availability and expects the same of all teammates. bswift defines core business hours as Monday thru Friday 8am – 5pm CST
Specific responsibilities include the following:
• Manage team members by conducting daily reviews of capacity, team deliverables, and performance - monitoring work to ensure timely and accurate completion
• Manage team development by conducting regular 1:1s, ensuring team member needs are addressed for successful execution of assigned tasks
• Act as client escalation point for service delivery concerns, provide oversight & drive delivery of key initiatives, ensuring all items are documented and addressed
• Provide operational performance reports to senior leadership team, identifying successes, risks, and needs weekly
• Lead weekly stand-up meeting with team members to communicate business initiatives and review team deliverables: open cases, implementations, projects, & other client maintenance tasks
• Hire and equip great people that reflect our core values
• Oversee implementations and execute as needed - communicating implementation risks and status of deliverables to senior leadership
• Assist in product development & quality assurance efforts as required
• Assist VP in remediation efforts as required and be the point of contact for clients seeking to engage with senior management/SMEs

• Give regular feedback for growth and development
• Demonstrate professionalism and confidentiality
• Develop rapport through regular 1:1s
• Manage performance against KPIs, feedback from internal and external customers
• Remove roadblocks and advocate for direct reports
Qualifications/Experience/Skills/Other Requirements:
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to apply these skills in either verbal or written form when interacting with various clients, company personnel, and team members
• Experience with Technology, Health & Welfare Benefits, Human Resources, or Health Care strongly preferred
• Strong relationship management and project management expertise, analytical skills and the ability to engage and motivate multiple stakeholders across the organization
• Tech savvy – must be willing to learn new technology and being able to communicate effectively when discussing with internally with team members and externally with clients
• A leadership style that reflects and reinforces bswift core values
• Adaptability to a rapidly changing priority list
• Willingness to work nights and weekends when necessary
• B.A. or B.S. required, or equivalent relevant work experience
Standard working hours are 8am-5pm Central Time, unless otherwise stated in the Job Description.
In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share the base salary range for this position is $80,000-$92,000, exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses. If you are hired at bswift, your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience. In addition to those factors – we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the full base salary range for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future & continued salary growth. We also offer a generous compensation and benefits package!
