We’re looking for an enthusiastic Associate Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) with a solid understanding of quality engineering principles and a passion for software development. You’ll contribute to building and maintaining test automation frameworks to ensure reliable coverage across Web, Mobile, API, and backend systems.
In this role, you'll contribute to product design discussions, identify quality gaps early, and collaborate closely on CI/CD workflows, DevOps practices, monitoring, and performance testing to ensure high-quality delivery throughout the software development lifecycle.
Responsibilities:
- Automation & Test Coverage
- Develop and maintain automation frameworks for Unit, Integration, Regression, and End-to-End testing across Web, API, and Mobile platforms.
- Define and monitor test coverage across UI, API, and database layers to ensure comprehensive quality assurance.
- Develop and manage automated test scripts using tools like Playwright, Cypress, Jest, and Cucumber.
- Implement and maintain mobile app testing pipelines, including automated test execution using tools such as BrowserStack, to ensure reliable cross-platform quality.
- Functional & Non-Functional Testing
- Design, execute and maintain functional, performance, load, and stress tests using JMeter and k6.
- Perform security validation and edge-case scenarios testing as needed to ensure application’s reliability and resilience using tools.
- CI/CD Collaboration & Monitoring
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions or Jenkins.
- Monitor application and test health using CloudWatch, Datadog, Grafana, or Kibana.
- SDLC & Agile Practices
- Contribute to Agile ceremonies and grooming sessions with focus on testability, performance, and reliability of both functional and non-functional requirements.
- Define test strategies early and ensure requirement-to-result traceability.
- Code Quality & Collaboration
- Follow Git-based workflows and branching strategies to collaborate effectively within the development lifecycle.
- Review test code, enforce standards, and document test scenarios, architecture, and KPIs.
- AI driven quality engineering
- Use Generative AI and prompt engineering to accelerate test creation and improve coverage.
- Support testing of AI applications to ensure compliance, reliability, and output validation.
Knowledge, Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field
- 1–3 years of hands-on experience as an SDET
- Proficient in TypeScript, scripting languages, and automation tools (Playwright, Cypress, Jest, Appium, Selenium)
- Experience in mobile testing using Sauce Labs and mobile automation frameworks (e.g., Appium)
- Hands-on with AWS services (Lambda, DynamoDB, SQS, EventBridge, API Gateway)
- Familiar with microservices and event-driven architectures
- Strong in SQL and NoSQL; able to write complex queries for backend and end-to-end testing
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies, Git, and CI/CD with integrated test automation
- Exposure to performance testing, observability, error tracing, and security testing
- Experience with AI tools (e.g., Generative AI for test generation) and contributing minor bug fixes or enhancements is preferred
- Strong communication skills in a global team environment
