This is a hybrid role in which you will work from your home office and travel roughly 25% of your time.
- Continually prospect for net new business throughout California via phone calls, emails, and other communication channels (LinkedIN, conference portals/apps, etc.)
- Serve as the initial point of contact for all inbound leads to screen, assess, and qualify before setting up meetings for Field Account Executives.
- Nurture and revive leads rejected/recycled by Field Account Executives during the prior Academic Year.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of lead information by updating relevant fields in SalesForce.
- Initiate contact with potential prospects through tailored and compelling messaging via emails and phone calls.
- Conduct high-quality discovery calls to source net new schools and school districts for Discovery Education’s products and services.
- Build a pipeline of confirmed sales appointments with key buying stakeholders in school districts, including Superintendents, Curriculum Directors, Department Heads.
- Reliably meet or surpass monthly benchmarks of validated opportunities/account executive engagements.
- Devise and implement effective campaigns within the assigned region to recruit for virtual and in-person events.
- Set up meetings or calls between prospective customers and Field Account Executives.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of the educational marketplace, industry trends, funding developments, and Discovery Education's products.
- Close business in open/unstaffed territories in California.
- Three or more years of experience in EdTech, preferably in an Associate Account Executive, SDR and/or Inside Sales roles, with a track record of exceeding lead and revenue targets and sales.
- Strong communication skills via phone and email.
- Proven, creative problem-solving approach and strong analytical skills.
- Strong desire and ability to collaborate with Field Account Executives in a support role capacity.
- Proficiency with SalesForce or other CRM software.
- Must have valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to travel up to 25%.

Compensation
Expected base salary range for this position is $60,000 - $80,000 USD annually based on several factors, including experience and geography. This position is also eligible for an annual incentive bonus or sales commission bonus, depending on the role, and benefits that are designed to support you & your family. If you are hired at Discovery Education, your final base salary compensation will be determined based on considerations such as geographic location, skills, responsibilities of the role, education, and/or relevant experience. In addition to those factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider the compensation of our current team members as a part of evaluating and extending any final offer.
