You will work directly with the IT Support and Engineering Manager and the rest of the team to assist efforts based in our Charlotte, NC office, but will support our global workforce. The ideal person for this role thrives in a fast-paced environment and relishes the opportunity to provide timely solutions to meet business needs.
This is a great opportunity to learn fast as we grow the toolsets we use and build a cloud-first, dynamic IT Department. We fail fast and often, use Agile methodologies to improve and learn daily.
This role will sit in our Charlotte Headquarters with a hybrid schedule (3 days in the office).
What you will do:
- Maintain essential IT infrastructure, including operating systems, security tools, applications, servers, email systems, laptops, desktops, software, and hardware.
- Take responsibility for projects and solutions within the larger business initiative.
- Handle business-critical IT tasks and systems that provide commercial advantage in the global marketplace.
- Enable faster and smarter business processes and develop analytics for meaningful insights.
- Work with internal and external partners to communicate project status, activities, and achievements.
- Administration of IT systems and Devices including but not limited to:
- Office 365, Zoom, Slack, Microsoft Intune, Mosyle/Jamf, iOS and Android.
- Ordering of devices and troubleshooting.
- Some Windows Server and Azure are used, and training is provided if needed.
- Provide white-glove service to Discovery Education colleagues.
- Teaching and testing of new tools and features.
- Work with our vendors to ensure a great experience for everyone.
- Video Conferencing Assistance- Zoom experience required.
- Associate degree or equivalent work experience.
- 2+ years of System Administrator experience.
- Experience with Office 365 Admin Portal daily and familiar with GSuite.
- Experience in supporting OS X and Windows-based systems (3 years plus).
- Scripting Experience
- Experienced at troubleshooting client-side networking issues (1 year).
- Basic understanding of Linux.
- Experience troubleshooting hardware (3 years plus).
- Experience working remotely with users of varied technical experience (3 years).
- You’re ready to triage and escalate incoming tickets, helping us find ways to make the same issues never happen again.
- You will help us build documentation.
- Strong Outlook Client knowledge (3 years plus).
- There is no email issue you can’t get to root cause on.
- Top-notch communication skills – both written and verbal.
- You are good at collaborating and working a team.
- You are able to support remote colleagues and are willing to travel up to 25%. Will likely be much less but we will have changing needs.
