Discovery Education is looking for a Manager, Instructional Strategy & Design for 6-8 to join our product team. You will lead the strategy and execution of instructional resources for Discovery Education Experience in grades 6-8. You will own key initiatives that require you to apply instructional design expertise and project management skills to deliver high-quality instructional resources for our educators and students. You will work collaboratively with team members across our product organization and other teams within the company including product marketing and our K-12 sales organization to ensure our instructional support offerings meet the needs of our customers.

This role will sit in our Charlotte Headquarters with a hybrid work schedule.

What You Will Do

  • Develop a deep understanding of Discovery Education's product offerings to analyze and identify opportunities for instructional content development that add value and extend the Discovery Education Experience product while supporting DE's product portfolio.
  • Lead the analysis and development of instructional design projects including evaluating usage data and analytics, performing market research, evaluating customer feedback, analyzing standards and curriculum, and conducting media analysis.
  • Present analysis findings and project recommendations to Product colleagues.
  • Lead development tasks such as creation of wireframes and prototypes, testing and gathering feedback, establishing writer's guidelines and templates, and managing the review and revision cycles of instructional resources.
  • Map instructional design projects to product OKRs and Experience's logic model and continually monitor and evaluate progress.
  • Participate in ongoing meeting series with product teams to share progress of projects, share strategy updates, and articulate software dependencies and opportunities for delivering enhanced instructional value.
  • Collaborate with the production team to support the publishing of instructional assets and related metadata to ensure discoverability of developed resources.
  • Collaborate with product marketing to support integrated go-to-market plans.
  • 5+ years of qualified teaching experience in one or more subjects in middle school as a classroom teacher, instructional coach, and/or other related instructional design experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree required in education, instructional design, or equivalent work experience.
  • Master's Degree preferred.
  • Certifications in Elementary Education, Instructional Coaching, Literacy and/or Math a plus.
  • Knowledge of education technology landscape and K-12 education trends.
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation, and verbal/written communication skills.
  • Proven track record of project management.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
