We are looking for a highly skilled Sales & Partnerships Manager to support statewide industry partnerships, workforce development engagement, and sales initiatives that expand the reach of Discovery Education’s Career Connect platform across key states. This role drives meaningful impact by securing and deepening partnerships with industries, workforce development boards, large corporate entities, and statewide associations. It is a highly visible, cross‑functional, and strategic role that partners closely with internal teams while serving as a trusted consultant to external stakeholders. You connect education systems with industry needs, advancing Discovery Education’s mission to link classrooms with local workforce opportunities.

In This Role You Will:
Statewide Sales Strategy & Revenue Growth

  • Execute the assigned territory/state sales plan with Sales Leadership; contribute insights on target accounts and sectors.
  • Build and manage a healthy pipeline; conduct discovery, deliver demos, and lead proposal development and manage the process through close.
  • Drive negotiations and procurement processes; escalate complex terms to Sales Leadership and Legal.
  • Maintain accurate weekly forecasting and CRM hygiene (stages, activities, next steps) in Salesforce

Partner Engagement & Relationship Management

  • Cultivate relationships with industry leaders, workforce boards, employers, and education stakeholders; represent Discovery Education at conferences and industry events.
  • Serve as a trusted consultant on how Career Connect supports workforce development and statewide initiatives.
  • Represent Discovery Education at conferences and industry events to build presence and strengthen relationships with statewide workforce stakeholders.

Internal Collaboration & Resource Alignment

  • Coordinate with product, marketing, and partner success to align messaging, materials, and handoffs for new accounts.
  • Contribute account insights to marketing activations and case studies; ensure a documented handoff to partner success for onboarding and activation.
  • Oversee seamless hand‑off of new accounts to the volunteer & partner success team.

Proposals, Presentations & Market Intelligence

  • Stay current on state policies, funding streams, and industry workforce needs; translate insights into opportunity identification and messaging.
  • Develop and deliver tailored proposals and presentations that clearly articulate Career Connect’s value to industry, education and workforce partners.

Credentials and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree a plus.
  • 5+ years of success in B2B/B2G sales or partnerships (education, workforce, public sector, or industry associations), with full‑cycle experience from prospecting through close.
  • Demonstrated success meeting/exceeding annual targets in complex or multi‑stakeholder sales (public sector/procurement experience preferred).
  • Proficiency with Salesforce (or similar CRM) and sales analytics tools; strong presentation skills in Microsoft 365 and online meeting platforms.
  • Knowledge of the K–12 and workforce landscape (funding, policy, CTE/workforce boards, employer engagement) and how to position solutions to diverse stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to create tailored proposals and presentations for executive and educator audiences.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, presentation tools, and online meeting tools.
  • Familiarity with the Nepris platform or similar EdTech solutions.
  • Up to 30% travel within assigned region as needed for partner meetings, events, and conferences.
  • Legal right to work in the United States.

This role is designed to be hybrid in Charlotte, NC. You work primarily in a typical office setting when onsite, with required travel across assigned states to support partner meetings, conferences, and workforce development engagements.

The hiring range for this position is between $78,100 - $87,850 annually, however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location. Additionally, this position is eligible for a Variable Target.
