E2open, LLC, a US publicly traded, highly acquisitive multinational has an immediate opening for an Assistant Vice President, Global Tax Reporting and Compliance. This position reports to the VP, Tax and is responsible for U.S. GAAP income tax provision and accompanying disclosures for the annual and quarterly financial statements, overseeing the worldwide direct and indirect tax compliance functions and assisting with M&A, TRA and insourcing of outsourced functions.
Primary Responsibilities
- Responsible for ASC 740 quarterly and annual tax provision calculations, including but not limited to accounting for deferred balances, tax account rollforwards, ASC 740-270 (Fin 18), ASC 830, ASC 718 and ASC 740-10
- Manage the outsourced compliance and reporting process, encompassing the process from forecast, reporting for business changes and M&A, to estimated tax payments and return filings through audit processes
- Work on a roadmap and timeline from current outsourcing to insourcing the US income tax compliance and provision processes with third party service providers and VP
- Oversee technology implementation for provision and income tax compliance with a focus on streamlining technology setup to generate analytics and metrics for timely management reporting
- Stay current with US and international tax law legislation or updates, FASB and IFRS updates, SEC guidance and PCAOB developments
- Responsible for and work cross functionally with Accounting, FP&A and the regions to generate a timely and streamlined quarterly forecast of legal entity earnings before tax. Work with the global tax and transfer price team for the quarterly transfer price adjustments and annual contemporaneous documentation requirements
- Ensure controls around the timely communication and recording of transactions and tax law changes in the proper quarters and the correct application of tax holidays and foreign tax concepts such as fiscal unity, group relief and organschaft
- Firm up quarterly processes for and train foreign controllers on ASC 740-270 requirements and expectation of reporting and deadlines. Implement reporting tools that streamline the capture and processing of legal entity tax reporting as the current outsourced tax provision process is insourced.
- Train and assist worldwide teams with the preparation of the quarterly and year-end worldwide tax provisions
- Work with VP and the Legal department to maintain obtain exchange notifications of LLC units, update tax basis balance sheet based on material exchanges and changes in the multi-year forecast to update the quarterly tax receivable liability pursuant to ASC 805 and 450 requirements
- Oversee and coordinate income tax audits around the world, either by direct interaction in the US with the auditor or working with the local controller and consultant to ensure timely and efficient audit settlements
- Monitor income tax audit notification and status of ongoing audits, statute extensions, competent authority arrangements and treaty benefits or relief provisions and record the impact of these provisos on ASC 740-10
- Responsible for SOX controls, including identification and mitigation of risk from impact of changes to business and regulations on such controls. Run parallel processes as technology is implemented for the tax provision and ensure increased rigor around controls as the functions are insourced
Education and Experience
- CPA (Certified Public Accountant), Masters in Taxation or specialization required
- 15+ years of tax experience in a large publicly traded multinational company or combination of Big Four and publicly traded multinationals with a focus on tax reporting for public companies
- Experience with the high tech/software industry preferred
Related Competencies
- Ability to review information and impact of issues strategically, and coordinate the modeling of such impact to communicate a concise and correct tax result clearly
- Familiarity with domestic and international provisions of Subchapters C and K, loss company provisions, change of control requirements, TCJA provisions, such as GILTI, BEAT, 163(j), economic nexus and other state tax developments, OECD developments, income tax method changes, etc. Required to stay current with changes in tax laws and regulatory updates around the world
- Identify and execute departmental efficiencies and improvements through automation of processes to ensure best in class controls for Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) 404 purposes
- Establish, monitor, maintain & document policies and procedures and internal controls as acquired companies are integrated
- Ability to complex problem-solve, both independently and working as a team
- Strong computer skills, including specific knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent understanding of and broad experience with Corptax and ONESOURCE income tax provision and compliance tools. Familiarity with small automation such as Bloomberg FAS, Alteryx, ONESOURCE OWM and/or Dataflow, SharePoint to improve transparency, management reporting and analytics a plus. Familiarity with NetSuite a plus

- Strong organizational and analytical skills. Ability to provide efficient, timely, and reliable service to internal and external stakeholders
