This is a full-time non-exempt position located in McHenry, IL. The pay for this position is $19.50 per hour and eligible for overtime. About the Role:

The Overstock Clerk plays a crucial role in managing inventory levels and ensuring that surplus stock is organized and accessible. This position involves replenishing receiving lines with overstock surplus, putting away surplus into overstock inventory, and pulling certain items for future orders utilizing the lift trucks. Shelving goes up to 20 feet in the warehouse. The lift truck does sway when it is up in the air. This position requires you to pull, twist throughout the day multiple times. The successful candidate will collaborate with various departments to facilitate the efficient movement of goods and minimize waste. By effectively managing overstock, the Clerk contributes to the overall operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness of the organization. Ultimately, this role supports the company's commitment to providing excellent service and maintaining a well-organized inventory system.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and manage overstock inventory levels to ensure optimal storage and accessibility.
  • Collaborate with team members to identify overstock trends and implement strategies for reduction.
  • Assist in the organization and cleanliness of the storage area to promote a safe working environment.

Skills:

The required skills for this position include strong organizational abilities, which are essential for maintaining an orderly inventory system and ensuring that overstock items are easily accessible. Attention to detail is critical when looking for damages or defects on items. Basic computer skills are utilized daily for data entry and report generation, allowing the Clerk to track inventory levels effectively. Additionally, having a forklift certification can facilitate the safe handling of larger items, contributing to a more efficient workflow.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Previous experience in inventory management or a related field.

• Basic computer skills.

• Ability to be up to 20 feet high from the ground on lift trucks

• Ability to twist and pull repetitively throughout the day

Preferred Qualifications:

• Forklift certification or experience operating warehouse equipment.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
