The Senior Tax Manager is responsible for all operational aspects of the company’s consolidated US GAAP tax provision reporting and US and Canada income and indirect tax compliance matters including upstream partnership tax reporting, international tax matters (GILTI, 5471s etc.) and operational business facing tax matters such as customer and vendor contract reviews & W8s/W9s. The Tax Manager will collaborate closely with external advisers, the tax compliance department of the company’s Parent entity as well as cross-functional business partners such as Accounting, FP&A, HR & Legal teams. The Tax Manager is expected to utilise previous tax experience to implement and improve processes and procedures to accelerate timely and accurate reporting and compliance and resolve tax issues.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Tax Manager to join a market leading fast moving Cybersecurity company within a driven Private Equity owned environment and truly shape the future state in-house tax operational model by proactive participation in various business and tax transformation initiatives.


Essential Functions

  • Prepare annual US GAAP income tax provision calculations and related financial disclosures (for review by outside auditors) including for US partnership and US GAAP worldwide consolidated reporting. This includes responsibility for the oversight & consolidation of the Non-US subsidiaries’ US GAAP income provision (prepared by the International tax team) for consolidated group reporting, producing disclosures, permanent/temporary differences, discrete items, rate reconciliation, deferred assets/liabilities, valuation allowances, return-to-provision adjustments, tax journal entries
  • Manage all federal and state income tax reporting and compliance matters, including annual 1065s for partnership entities, working with external providers including responsibility for accurate completion of related PBCs. This also includes K-1, K-3 & related reporting for partnership entities including estimations as required by the Parent entity
  • Oversight of sales and use tax filings and compliance
  • Responsible for R&D tax credit analysis, annual property tax filings (outsourced), Franchise Tax compliance, Canadian income tax compliance (outsourced) and other miscellaneous tax filings
  • Support tax matters pertaining to equity & incentive plans
  • Working with external providers where appropriate, calculate estimated quarterly federal and state taxable income (as required by the Parent entity) and estimated income tax payments, including state withholding payments, for Forcepoint’s US entities
  • Responsible for US cash tax matters (direct and indirect taxes) including forecasts and tax model and subsequent timely payments
  • Maintain detailed tax compliance calendar, ensuring timely completion and filing of all scheduled items
  • Oversee all federal and state income tax examinations including responding to and resolving assigned information and documentation requests received from tax auditors from federal and state tax authorities
  • Build strong collaborative relationship with the tax department of the company’s Parent entity to support tax compliance reporting, M&A transactions and ad hoc projects as requested
  • Lead on tax aspects of M&A activities, business transformation and restructuring initiatives including entity rationalisation and system implementation
  • Communicate and support the company's tax accounting positions to the independent financial auditors
  • Remain current in relevant statutory, administrative, and judicial authority and guidance to identify and analyze the impact of such changes on the company
  • Perform tax research, including the effects of proposed legislation and other matters impacting the company’s tax matters
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned

Education, Experience, and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA preferred
  • 7 to 10 years of applicable tax experience, preferably in public accounting with exposure to private equity structures
  • Experience in using tax software/technology such as (but not limited to) ONESOURCE Tax Provision, ONESOURCE Indirect Tax and ERPs
  • Experience of partnership tax matters, including K-1s, K-3s, Section 704(b) and (c) allocations desirable
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to meet internal and external deadlines with urgency and deliver work product accurately and timely
  • Strong decision making, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent collaborator with strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to work with and influence executive leadership, senior colleagues in the GFO organization and business
  • Strong teaming skills and ability to build consensus across functional groups within the organization
