Forcepoint is seeking a seasoned sales engineering leader to manage its West US sales territory. This is one of the most dynamic and exciting selling regions in Forcepoint and will require a person with strong field experience; proven leadership abilities; high energy and enthusiasm; and the ability to operate in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

The sales engineering leader will be responsible for the leadership and direction of a team of highly talented sales engineers covering the West sales territory. The primary responsibilities in this role are to ensure our sales engineering team is executing technical wins; identifying and mitigating technical risk; driving pipeline; and advancing and evangelizing the strategic direction of Forcepoint’s Human Point System.

The leader will also be asked to ensure strong partnership between sales engineering and other corporate functions such as technical support, professional services, and engineering; to help remove obstacles to the technical win; and to inspire and motivate their sales engineers. Finally, the leader will be excited about the prospect of joining the team in the field to help them sell.

Key responsibilities:

  • Ensure technical win coverage is provided for direct and indirect opportunities across the territory.
  • Own and drive the technical strategy for key accounts and partnerships within the territory.
  • Help sales engineers engage the appropriate resources in technical support, professional services, engineering, etc. as needed to achieve the technical win.
  • Work within the sales organization and across functions in a collaborative, team-first manner.
  • Demonstrate thought leadership by helping the sales and sales engineering teams uncover and align the customer's problems with Forcepoint’s Human Point System.
  • Help sales engineers develop consultative approaches to technical selling, focused on business outcomes rather than features and functions.
  • Actively drive revenue and pipeline by spending time in the field with sales and sales engineering teams.

Knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Minimum of 8+ years of sales engineering individual contributor and management experience.
  • Verifiable track record of success as an individual contributor and sales engineering team leader.
  • Experience selling security solutions to large enterprise and strategic accounts.
  • Experience selling security solutions in some combination of DLP, endpoint, web proxy, CASB, UEBA and/or email gateway solution areas.
  • A proven ability to implement world-class sales processes, productivity improvements, and enablement programs throughout the sales organizations.
  • A desire and ability to team and work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • History of retaining, developing, motivating, and mentoring a workforce tasked with achieving ambitious goals.
  • Demonstrated “can do” mindset, driven by a strong work ethic, collaborative approach to solving problems, and willingness to get hands on with the field when needed.
  • Experience using sales forecasting tools and driving good sales forecasting hygiene from sales engineers. Ability to inspect technical activity and to discover, report, and help address areas of technical risk.
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal. Must have the ability to deliver concise, logical, written documents and email communications, and to present cogent, well-thought arguments and summaries.
  • Self-starter with experience working in a fast-paced growing enterprise, while demonstrating an entrepreneurial spirit.
  • High ethical standards and high integrity are an absolute must.
  • CISSP and other Industry Certifications are desirable.
