Position Overview: The Sr Sales Engineer provides essential technical support for the development and implementation of complex products, applications, and solutions. This role leverages in-depth product knowledge to assist sales staff and customers through sales presentations and product demonstrations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Expertise: Utilize extensive product knowledge to provide technical expertise to sales staff and customers during sales presentations and product demonstrations.

  • Customer Needs Assessment: Assist sales staff in evaluating potential applications of company products to meet customer needs, and prepare detailed product specifications for development and implementation.

  • Design and Implementation: Create detailed design and implementation specifications for complex products, applications, and solutions.

  • Prototyping and Demonstrations: Build mini-applications based on customer requirements to demonstrate feasibility, often requiring rapid prototyping and product demos.

  • Consultation and Validation: Provide consultation to prospective users and conduct product capability assessments and validations.

  • Problem Resolution: Use professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues creatively and effectively.

  • Innovation: Frequently contribute to the development of new ideas, methods, and theories.

  • Complex Problem Solving: Develop resolutions to complex problems requiring in-depth evaluation of variable factors and frequent use of creativity.

  • Judgment and Evaluation: Exercise judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.

  • Networking: Network with key contacts outside own area of expertise.

  • Methodology Development: Determine methods and procedures for new assignments and may coordinate activities of other personnel.

  • Autonomy: Work is accomplished with significant latitude in determining objectives of assignments.

  • Impact: Erroneous decisions or recommendations would typically result in the inability to reach crucial organizational objectives and may have prolonged effects.

Qualifications:

Education: University degree or equivalent work experience.

Experience: 6+ years of related experience.

Skills:

  • Strong technical expertise in product development and implementation.

  • Excellent problem-solving and creative thinking abilities.

  • Effective communication and presentation skills.

  • Ability to work autonomously and make significant decisions independently.
