About the Role
Forcepoint is looking for a hands-on Data Engineer to join our growing Business Intelligence team. This is a role for someone who thrives on taking on challenges, moves with urgency, and takes real ownership of their work. You will design, build, and maintain data pipelines and infrastructure that power critical decisions across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Data Engineering & Pipeline Development
- Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and delivery using Fivetran and API Ingestion with AWS S3
- Develop and optimize complex SQL queries and Python scripts to support ETL/ELT workflows
- Manage and maintain data workflows within Databricks, ensuring performance, reliability, and data quality
- Collaborate on data modeling, schema design, and governance best practices
Reporting & Analytics Enablement
- Build and maintain Databricks dashboards and reports that surface actionable insights to business stakeholders
- Partner with analysts and business teams to translate reporting needs into scalable data solutions
Stakeholder Communication & Project Management
- Communicate clearly and proactively with stakeholders across business units, setting realistic expectations on timelines and deliverables
- Prioritize workload effectively across multiple concurrent projects and shifting business needs
- Document data processes, pipeline logic, and architectural decisions to enable team-wide transparency
- Participate in sprint planning and contribute to Agile development cycles
Innovation & Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to leverage AI, machine learning, or cloud-native tooling to enhance data products
- Stay current on emerging technologies including AI agents, LLM integrations, and modern cloud data patterns
- Contribute to code reviews and version-controlled development practices via GitHub

Qualifications
Required
- 3+ years of experience in a data engineering, analytics engineering, or similar role
- Strong proficiency in SQL — able to write complex queries, optimize performance, and debug efficiently
- Hands-on Python experience for data transformation, automation, and pipeline development
- Experience with Databricks or equivalent distributed data processing platforms
- Familiarity with version control and collaborative development using GitHub
- Demonstrated ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders
Preferred
- Experience with Databricks, including building pipelines and writing complex queries
- Familiarity with Salesforce and experience integrating or extracting data from CRM platforms
- Experience with API-based data ingestion and building pipelines from third-party data sources
- Exposure to AI/ML tooling, cloud AI services, or LLM-powered data pipelines and agents
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies
