Product Development Intern
GAINSystems
Location: Atlanta
Duration: Summer 2026 | 3–6 Months
Department: Product Management
About GAINS
GAINS is on a mission to make supply chains smarter, faster, and self-improving, powered by AI. Our decision intelligence platform doesn't just support decisions, it drives them by aligning strategy, planning, and execution across every level of the supply chain. We serve inventory-intensive industries where the stakes are high and the complexity is real, helping customers move from reactive, spreadsheet-driven planning to continuously learning, AI-led operations that deliver measurable results fast. At GAINS, we call it Moving Forward Faster— and it's not a tagline, it's how we're redefining what's possible in driving supply chain decisions.
Role Overview:
We are looking for a curious, resourceful, and proactive intern to join the Product team for the summer. This is a hands-on role at the intersection of product documentation, quality assurance, and AI enablement — giving you real exposure to how enterprise supply chain software is built, tested, and explained to users.
What You’ll Be Working On
Documentation & Knowledge Base Expansion
Your primary mission for the summer is to meaningfully grow the documentation ecosystem that powers our help center, Confluence, and AI applications. This means:
• Writing clear, structured help articles and how-to guides for GAINS products (SCA, VRO, etc)
• Organizing and improving existing Confluence pages to make knowledge more discoverable
• Creating content that directly feeds our AI applications with richer context — your work will make our tools smarter
• Recording and documenting testing sessions to create reusable reference materials for the team and customers
Quality Assurance Support
You will get hands-on experience with our products by supporting QA activities:
• Getting familiar with GAINS tools through guided exploration and self-directed learning
• Helping execute test cases and document results in a clear, structured way
• Identifying gaps or inconsistencies between product behavior and existing documentation
• Recording test walkthroughs to create repeatable test artifacts for the product team
Cross-Functional Collaboration
You won’t be working in a silo. This role is built around learning from the people closest to the work:
• Partnering with the Supply Chain Design Operations Analyst to understand how GAINS products are used in real customer workflows — this is your primary day-to-day collaborator for process learning
• Sitting in on product, engineering, and Applied Research Group conversations, design reviews, and product discussions to build context you can’t get from reading alone
• Asking questions — lots of them. We actively want someone who will knock on doors (virtual or otherwise) to get the answers they need
Who We’re Looking For
Here’s what will make you successful in this role:
Personality & Work Style
• You are genuinely curious — you like understanding how things work, not just what they do
• You are not afraid to ask questions or knock on doors to get clarity; you don’t let ambiguity stop you
• You are comfortable trying new tools and figuring things out as you go
• You are a clear communicator — in writing, especially, since much of this role is about making complex things easy to understand
Skills & Background
• Currently pursuing a degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, Supply Chain, or a related field
• Strong writing skills — you can explain technical concepts in plain language
• Experience with documentation tools (Confluence, Notion, Google Docs) or project tracking tools (Jira) is a plus
• Familiarity with AI tools and interest in how they are applied in business contexts is a bonus
