Job Description
The Security Engineer role requires information technology experience in the methodology, procedures, and necessary actions to protect, secure, and recover from malicious and damaging attacks or threats.
The Security Engineer shall primarily focus on tracking and monitoring internal technological controls in support of iboss Security Operations. The team is tasked with protecting and securing iboss personnel, iboss corporate data, and client data from internal and external threats. A successful candidate in this role will have experience working in a secure environment with a focus on managing all security tools. Candidates for this role should also be well versed in incident response and threat hunting.
Responsibilities
- Implementing, maintaining, and researching security tools for FedRAMP environments, commercial, and internal IT
- Review SIEM Logs and alerts
- Working with internal IT to support O365 applications
- Managing the vulnerability process for FedRAMP environments, commercial, and internal IT
- Working with internal IT and Security teams to identify and resolve security incidents.
- Documenting processes and procedures for Security Tools
- Monitor alarms, alerts, and anomalous logs generated by various security platforms with the assistance of a SIEM or similar platform.
- Threat Hunting IOC and researching supply chain attacks within our production environment
- Other tasks as assigned
Qualifications
- 4-year college degree or related experience
- 3-5 years of hands-on tools experience
- 3 years or more of direct security monitoring and response experience
- Industry certifications a plus (Security Plus or equivalent knowledge)
- Security Tools Certification a plus
- Possess a strong work ethic and team player mentality
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Highly developed sense of integrity
- Strong detail orientation and listening skills.
- Strong decision making and analytical abilities
