Job Description
iboss is looking for an Accounting and Payroll Manager who will oversee the company's accounting operations and end-to-end payroll processes. Reporting to the VP of Finance, the Accounting and Payroll Manager will ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, maintain compliance with applicable regulations, and support the overall financial health of the organization. Responsibilities
  • Manage and oversee all day-to-day accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and month-end and year-end close processes
  • Own end-to-end payroll processing for domestic and international employees, ensuring accurate and timely payroll runs in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
  • Prepare and review financial statements, account reconciliations, and variance analyses to support accurate and timely reporting
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable tax filings, payroll tax obligations, and regulatory requirements including W-2s, 1099s, and other statutory reporting
  • Partner with HR and People Operations to administer employee compensation changes, new hire onboarding, terminations, and benefits deductions within the payroll system
  • Work with cross-functional internal teams (Finance, Legal, HR, and Operations) to support audits, budget planning, and financial forecasting activities
  • Maintain and improve internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance where applicable
  • Manage relationships with external auditors, payroll vendors, and tax advisors to support annual audits and ongoing compliance activities
  • Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities within accounting and payroll workflows to drive efficiency and scalability
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accounting and payroll staff, fostering a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement
Qualifications
  • Minimum 4+ years of progressive accounting and payroll experience overseeing accounting and payroll functions
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; CPA designation strongly preferred
  • Deep knowledge of GAAP, payroll regulations, and multi-state payroll compliance requirements
  • Hands-on experience with accounting software and ERP systems such as NetSuite, QuickBooks, or similar platforms
  • Proficiency with payroll platforms such as ADP, Paychex, Rippling, or Workday
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, including the ability to present financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders
  • Experience supporting external audits and working with auditors in a SaaS or technology company environment is preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to drive process improvements and implement scalable accounting and payroll solutions
