Job Description
iboss is looking for a Director of Sales Engineering who will lead and develop a high-performing team of Sales Engineers while serving as a senior technical advisor to prospects and customers throughout the sales cycle. Partnering closely with sales leadership, the Sales Engineering Manager will drive product demonstrations, proof-of-concept engagements, and technical evaluations to communicate the value of the iboss Cloud Platform. Responsibilities
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a team of Sales Engineers, providing coaching, performance guidance, and career development to build a world-class pre-sales organization aligned with iboss go-to-market objectives
  • Partner with account executives to drive new customer acquisition by delivering compelling technical presentations, product demonstrations, and proof-of-concept engagements that articulate the value of the iboss Cloud Platform
  • Serve as the primary technical resource throughout the sales cycle, responding to RFPs, RFIs, and security questionnaires with accurate and thorough technical content
  • Lead and manage proof-of-concept (POC) and pilot deployments, ensuring prospects experience the full capabilities of iboss solutions in their own environments
  • Work with cross-functional internal teams (Product Management, Security, Marketing, Customer Success) to efficiently navigate complex sales cycles and exceed team goals
  • Build strong, long-lasting relationships with technical stakeholders including CISOs, network architects, and security engineers by understanding their environments and challenges
  • Deliver executive-level and technical-level discussions on Zero Trust, SSE, SASE, cloud security, SWG, CASB, DLP, RBI, and threat landscapes
  • Identify customer requirements and provide feedback to Product Management to influence the iboss product roadmap
  • Support channel partners and MSSPs with technical enablement, training, and co-selling activities to accelerate pipeline and close rates
  • Stay current on competitive landscape, industry trends, and emerging threats to effectively position iboss solutions against alternatives
  • Contribute to the development of technical content including demo environments, architecture guides, battle cards, and best practice documentation
Qualifications
  • Minimum 4+ years of experience in a Sales Engineering Manager or pre-sales leadership role, with a proven track record of recruiting, developing, and retaining high-performing Sales Engineering teams in the cybersecurity or networking industry
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in a Sales Engineering, Solutions Engineering, or technical pre-sales role within the cybersecurity or networking industry
  • Strong understanding of network security technologies including Secure Web Gateway (SWG), CASB, Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA), DLP, Firewall-as-a-Service (FWaaS), and Remote Browser Isolation (RBI)
  • Hands-on experience with cloud architectures, network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S, TLS), and enterprise IT environments
  • Proven ability to lead successful POC engagements and manage technical evaluations from kickoff through completion
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, including the ability to present complex technical concepts to both technical and executive audiences
  • Familiarity with compliance frameworks and security standards such as NIST, ISO 27001, SOC 2, and FedRAMP
  • Experience working with channel partners, MSSPs, and system integrators is a plus
  • Industry certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, CompTIA Security+, or vendor-specific certifications preferred
  • Willingness to travel when needed to support customer meetings, industry events, and on-site evaluations
