Our Hardware Systems team works across the full music production and DJ product portfolio and the new and exciting features that will bring our hardware systems to the next level. From UX and industrial design, mechanical engineering, electronics engineering, embedded software development, HW-QA to packaging - this team is responsible for maintaining and pushing the boundaries of the development of high-quality systems.

 

We are looking for a Senior Engineering Manager (all genders) to support our Berlin-based hardware systems development team with manufacturing in China. In this role you will build teams that are creating the next generation of music production and DJ systems and you will lead them through the entire development process to production start. In this position you lead and work in a multidisciplinary Development Team in close collaboration with the products organisation. You will work from our office in Berlin, Kreuzberg in a multicultural and creative environment.

 

What You'll Do

  • You are leading a team of Hardware Engineers working on the innovation, development, and sustaining of Hardware Systems.
  • Work closely with your team, other Engineering Managers, Product Managers,  Project Managers, Program Manager as well with other stakeholders to develop and deliver against technology and product roadmaps.
  • Promote best practices in the development of Hardware solutions.
  • Mentor and guide the professional and technical maturity of your team in a healthy and sustainable way.
  • Organise a continuous feedback process, including annual reviews and professional development process for the engineers.
  • Monitor individual workloads ensuring sustainability and the employees' well-being.
  • Monitoring and managing conflicts which cannot be solved by the teams themselves.
  • Help plan and form teams that are collaborative, inclusive and respectful.
  • Work with our recruiting team to attract, onboard and retain engineers from diverse backgrounds 

 

What You’ll Need

  • Extensive experience as a people manager in tech, leading, coaching and mentoring Hardware Engineers.
  • Advanced degree (e.g, master’s degree, diploma, or comparable) in Engineering and long-term engineering expertise in Hardware development (Mechanical, Electronics or Embedded Software preferred).
  • A strong understanding of hardware systems project processes
  • Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum preferred).
  • You are knowledgeable and passionate about hardware systems engineering.
  • You offer demonstrated skills in facilitation and communication, you love to collaborate and empower others.
  • Profound knowledge of relevant technology and processes, keeping up with new standards, technologies, and tools.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple assignments.
  • Capability to analyse, structure and document best practices.
  • You are comfortable working in a complex environment and familiar with managing risks and uncertainties.
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills, combined with a solution-oriented way of working, German is a plus.
