Purpose of the role
The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for leading and managing audit engagements, evaluating financial and operational processes, and providing recommendations to enhance internal controls, compliance, and risk management. They play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial statements while maintaining a high standard of ethical conduct within Professional Services
Audit Planning and Execution
- Develop comprehensive audit plans that define the scope, objectives, and methodologies for each audit engagement.
- Lead audit teams in conducting financial, operational, and compliance audits.
- Execute audit procedures, including risk assessment, testing, and evaluation of internal controls.
- Identify and assess potential risks and control weaknesses within the organization's processes and systems.
- Analyse data to detect irregularities or unusual patterns that may indicate fraud or misconduct.
- Review and ensure the accuracy of financial statements and related disclosures.
- Provide recommendations for improvements in financial reporting processes.
Compliance and Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure that the organization complies with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Keep up to date with changes in accounting and auditing standards and communicate their impact to the organization.
- Maintain regular communication with clients to discuss audit findings, recommendations, and any potential issues.
- Address client questions and concerns effectively and professionally.
Team Leadership and Development
- Supervise, mentor, and provide guidance to audit staff members.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Ensure that audit workpapers and documentation meet industry standards and firm guidelines.
- Review and approve audit reports and documentation before submission.
- Identify opportunities to enhance audit methodologies and processes.
- Propose and implement improvements to increase audit efficiency and effectiveness.
Skills / Knowledge & Experience
- Proven experience in leadership and management roles, preferably in a similar industry.
- Strong financial acumen and budget management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and compliance standards.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing circumstances.
- Leadership qualities, including the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Proven experience in auditing, with a minimum of 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of auditing standards, accounting principles, and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ethical and professional conduct in all aspects of the job.
