Data Intelligence Analyst

The Role

As a Data Intelligence Analyst at ATG you will work within the data intelligence team supporting the data strategy in governance, collection and output for optimal use within other teams such as the Analytics Engineering, Data Engineering and BI departments. You will be responsible for ensuring deliverables across different data disciplines, in-line with the ultimate data product vision.

As part of the team, you will be responsible for understanding end user requirements and be involved in the technical solutions behind data collection architecture, liaising with the Data Engineering team on summary table creation and helping to ensure data accuracy across Analytics and data systems.

You will also be required to contribute to scoping and discovery exercises being conducted elsewhere in the business, leveraging your expert knowledge of the data and business intelligence offering and the associated data requirements. You will be responsible for communicating any blockers or changes to timelines that arise from either of the Data Engineering or Business Intelligence teams to the Senior Data Intelligence Analyst or Technical Product Manager – Data Solutions for delivery impact assessments. You will therefore be working in a busy and multi-functional team, planning and prioritising a variable workload and delivering to deadlines.

You will report to the Senior Data Intelligence Analyst and you may provide mentorship to other analysts in Data Intelligence or Business Intelligence team where appropriate to support their knowledge and skills growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting the wider business to access data as easily as possible and supporting various areas of the business with data-driven insight to help achieve goals andgathering end-user requirements

  • Translate high level roadmap ambitions into user stories, refinement of user stories as required with development teams and meeting with the relevant business stakeholders when needed to refine user stories

  • Scheduling and prioritization for data engineering and business intelligence teams, investigation and triage of BAU issues such as bugs, oversight of product delivery, probe for updates and understand blockages to get them unblocked, release scheduling and deployment management, organize product demonstrations with the Technical Product Manager – Data solutions

  • Pre and post release communications where necessary to relevant stakeholders

  • Ensuring insights are comprehensible for both non-technical and technical stakeholders

  • Conducting data analysis to provide insightful and actionable information to relevant stakeholders, whilst also highlighting any data issues or findings and offering solutions

  • Working alongside the Senior Data Intelligence Analyst to streamline data intelligence processes to improve efficiency and data accuracy that will waterfall into other data teams

  • Compiling and analysing various data sources to identify trends and patterns and having the ability to make complicated datasets simple and easy-to-read and understand

  • Architecting front-end and back-end user interaction tagging plans and working with the Analytics Engineering team and Product Owners to implement the tracking, and maintenance of tagging archutectural documentation

  • Understanding and proposing any new summary table requirements or changes to existing summary tables to the Data Engineering team which involves SQL knowledge

  • Auditing the quality of recorded data across the business to help support various data teams

  • Documenting processes (or SOPs) for commonly performed tasks to assist with the training of other Data Analysts, or to aid business continuity as a general theme

  • Working with the Senior Data Intelligence Analyst and the Technical Product Manager – Data Solutions to identify product enhancements that drive efficiency or provide more self-service functionality to allow other support roles to handle their own data analysis

  • Working with Product Owners and the Software Engineering community to identify/rationalise product improvements based on data findings

  • Collaborate closely with Product Owners on timescales for data implementation deliverables to agree timelines

  • Fully understanding the data landscape in databases, analytics and applications and all the front-end and back-end products in the global portfolio

  • Understanding of data compliance and laws, as well as the full data collection to output technology stack

Person Specification (Essential Skills, Knowledge and Experience Required):

Technical Competencies:

  • Tableau or equivalent

  • SQL

  • Mathematical and statistical knowledge

  • Analytical and logical mindset

  • Data segmentation techniques

  • Product management/ownership skills

  • Communicate analysis coherently – both verbally and visually to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Data analysis experience

  • Understanding of clickstream/event tagging and entities

  • Product ownership skillset – product planning, delivery support and communications

  • Data manipulation and visualisation

Desirable Skills:

  • Familiarity with:

    • JIRA software

    • Tableau or other visualisation tools

    • AWS tech

  • Experience, or an interest in, the automotive industry

  • Experience of Agile/SCRUM delivery environment
