Role Overview

Working as part of the Compute (Platform) Engineering team within the Infrastructure & Cloud Services organization of Keyloop, we are responsible for delivering the infrastructure and tools used within our global hybrid cloud locations. Compute related services include, but are not limited to, such areas as Servers & Hypervisor (Dell/HP x86, VMware), SAN (Brocade & Cisco), Storage (Dell/IBM), Backup solutions (Netbackup & Rubrik), Operating systems (Windows, Centos, AIX, IBMi) and back office solutions.

As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation and scalability of our cloud infrastructure. You will be responsible for deploying, configuring, and maintaining both Windows and Linux operating systems across various environments. Your expertise in DevOps practices and strong technical skills will be essential in optimizing our systems for performance, reliability, and security.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operating System Deployment and Configuration:
    • Deploy and configure Windows and Linux operating systems across various environments, including on-premises, cloud (AWS), and hybrid.
    • Manage operating system upgrades, patches, and security updates to ensure system stability and compliance.
    • Automate repetitive tasks using scripting languages to improve efficiency and reduce errors.
    • Implement security best practices to protect systems from vulnerabilities.
    • Create and update automated operating systems Gold Images
    • Delivering server builds to CIS controls
  • Infrastructure Management:
    • Monitor system performance and identify potential issues proactively.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve operating system-related problems.
    • Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth integration of infrastructure components.
  • Automation and Tooling:
    • Implement and maintain automation tools and scripts to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
    • Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry best practices.
  • Collaboration:
    • Collaborate with development teams to understand application requirements.
    • Work closely with network and security teams to ensure infrastructure integrity.
  • Troubleshooting:
    • Diagnose and resolve system issues promptly.
    • Document troubleshooting procedures for future reference.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong proficiency in Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Experience with AWS cloud infrastructure (e.g., EC2, S3).
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools (e.g., Ansible).
  • Understanding of scripting languages (e.g., Bash, PowerShell).
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional is preferred.
