Purpose of role
We are seeking a skilled DevOps and AWS Engineer to join our Keyloop Infrastructure and 24/7 Cloud Operations team.
Our team's primary responsibilities include managing AWS instances using Terraform and provisioning applications with Ansible.
The ideal candidate should possess strong analytical and forensic capabilities to effectively analyse existing AWS resources and Terraform workflows using GitHub Actions, as well as a solid understanding of troubleshooting AWS issues.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Git, Jenkins, and other related technologies.
  • Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform to automate the provisioning and management of AWS resources, including VPCs, subnets, security groups, EC2 instances, RDS instances, and S3 buckets.
  • Implement and manage configuration management using Ansible to ensure consistency and compliance across environments, including automated patching, configuration drift detection, and system hardening.
  • Write and maintain shell scripts for automation tasks, including deployment, monitoring, and incident response, ensuring tasks are efficiently executed and reducing manual intervention.
  • Manage and troubleshoot Windows and Linux servers to ensure high availability, performance, and security, performing regular maintenance, updates, and backups.
  • Collaborate with development, QA, and operations teams to define and implement DevOps processes and best practices, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and shared responsibility.
  • Monitor and optimize system performance, ensuring scalability and reliability by using monitoring tools like CloudWatch, Grafana, and Prometheus.
  • Implement security best practices and ensure compliance with industry standards, including the configuration of IAM roles and policies, security groups, network ACLs, and the use of encryption for data at rest and in transit.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members, fostering a collaborative and knowledge-sharing environment.
  • Participate in on-call rotations to provide support for production environments, ensuring rapid response to incidents and minimal downtime.
  • Automate the provisioning of development, testing, and production environments using Terraform and Ansible, ensuring consistent and reproducible setups.
  • Manage AWS accounts and environments, ensuring proper tagging, cost optimization, and resource management.
  • Collaborate with security teams to conduct vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and remediation activities.
  • Research and integrate new tools and technologies to enhance the infrastructure and DevOps capabilities, ensuring the adoption of modern and efficient practices.

Skills / Knowledge & Experience

  • Outstanding interpersonal, communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Strategic mindset, able to pivot quickly and make decisions based on changing needs in a high growth environment.
  • 5+ years of experience in a DevOps role, with a strong background in both Windows and Linux environments.
  • Proficiency in Git for version control and experience with branching strategies and code review processes.
  • Extensive experience with AWS services, including EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, and VPC.
  • Strong knowledge of Terraform for infrastructure provisioning and management.
  • Hands-on experience with Ansible for configuration management and automation.
  • Proficient in shell scripting (Bash, PowerShell) for automation and task orchestration.
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK stack.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment

  • Proven experience of contributing across a global infrastructure, working with remote colleagues in geographically dispersed teams in a fast-paced and dynamic environment and with limited supervision.

Desirable

  • Previous experience with Terraform for infrastructure automation, Ansible for configuration management, and AWS for cloud services

Additional Information

  • This position is work from office, requiring presence during all shifts, including night shifts and weekends as a part of the 24/7 Operations center and office cab transport is provided for all shifts
