The Senior Accounts Specialist – India Accounting (Payroll & Compliance) is responsible for reviewing and signing off payroll results, ensuring accurate application of payroll taxes, and maintaining statutory compliance. This role focuses on tax filings, regulatory adherence, and financial reporting while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to address payroll tax-related matters and drive process improvements.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Compliance with statutory reporting and filing requirements
- Working with payroll inputs from internal stakeholders
- Process advance payments and other out-of-cycle payments
- Calculate and prepare general journal entries
- Prepare and file tax reports i.e. quarterly TDS returns
- Employee Form 16 generation on traces
- Assure that all employees receive timely responses to inquiries
- Generate reports to analyze payroll data
- End to End Payroll calculation and processing activities
- Induction on payroll taxation to new joiner
- Timely processing of F&F
- Collection of investment proofs and validating them
- Processing employee related reimbursements
- Making all statutory payments PF, ESI, PT timely
- Attending payroll related audits
- Getting accurate data from concerned teams to create accruals
- Participate in month end activities
- Independently coordinate and communicate with all internal groups, and external parties (as required).
- Address and resolve problems in a timely manner
- Initiate best practices; develop efficiency improvements
Skills / Knowledge
- Experience in a similar role
- Experience of working with different Finance systems (Business Central, SAP, Oracle etc.)
- Demonstrable in-depth knowledge of accounting standards and Indian payroll regulations, including PF, ESI, PT, TDS, Gratuity, and other statutory requirements and
- Good communication skills
- Experience of working for an International Company would be advantageous
