Finance Business Partner -Sales
Scope of Management Responsibility:
As part of the Finance team that supports the Chief Revenue Officer (“Business Leader”), the Finance Business Partner – Sales (“FBP”) provides both financial and commercial expertise to the Business Leader they support. The FBP is expected to act as the ‘right hand’ to the business leader, helping drive and take ownership of performance and optimised results in line with Keyloop’s Operating Plan and Strategy.
Whilst the role functionally reports up within Finance, an exceedingly strong dotted line exists with the Business Leader due to the hands-on expectation to running the business.
The FBP will have access to a team of Finance Business Partners / Analysts (“Functional Team”) that will help in delivering their overall objectives and will be responsible for recruiting and retaining the talent required.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Understanding, interpreting, explaining & driving business performance in terms of:
- Bookings across Keyloop, but specifically driven by the Sales function
- Expenses for the Sales function
· Owner of the financial narrative and linkage to the business narrative for the
· Function and reported bookings across Keyloop
· Leading financial planning, forecasting, and business reviews to ensure Keyloop has a credible, joined-up, and quantifiable plan to execute its strategy
· Working with multiple VP Sales in developing business cases and Deal Desk decks for evaluation of significant deals across Keyloop
· Working with the Directors who report into the Business Leader and owning the financial forecast for labour and non-labour expenses for the Function, as well as the financial implications of the critical initiatives relevant to the Function
· Developing and maintaining models that forecast Bookings based on the evolution of the sales pipeline and win rates
· Working closely with VP Finance in developing new customer 360 reporting
· Evaluating, reviewing, and approving business decisions, monitoring ongoing projects to ensure benefits are tracked & realized for the Function
· Development of strong interpersonal relationships with Business Controllers and wider finance team(s) to ensure they are fully aware of business aspects relevant to the Function
· Ensuring Central Finance Teams are fully apprised of financial and operational performance, risks & opportunities relevant to the Function
· Communicator & advocate for business compliance with Finance/ internal processes and controls for the Function
· Leading and supporting, where appropriate, the financial aspects of commercial negotiations with customers, especially relating to pricing and other commercial aspects, resulting in successful deal closure
· Closely aligned with Sales Ops teams in monitoring the effectiveness of sales incentive plans and approving & reporting thereon regularly
Knowledge and Experience:
Business / Strategic Impact
· Able to apply sound financial analysis to support decision making
· Able to model and/or critically evaluate business cases, including relevant support on Deal Desk and Product Approval Boards (PABs) as needed
· Able to plan, coordinate, and execute an efficient and effective forecasting /annual operating plan cycle looking at leading indicators
· Able to propose clear practical action steps in crafting solutions to business Problems
· Able to run and maintain Keyloop wide metrics relating to Bookings and reporting deviations thereon
· Able to adopt best-in-class reporting capabilities using tools such as Power BI or Tableau to give insight into performance to the Business
· Able to focus on cause & effect relationships in observable factors
· Able to focus on functional cost efficiencies and identify opportunities to improve Performance
· Ability to gain insight into leading indicators for cost overruns and work closely with the Function to remedy the same Leadership
· Able to clearly articulate the Roles and Responsibilities of the Functional Team, including alignment across VP Sales and Alliances
· Regularly monitor team performance with timely feedback and follow-up
Skills and Abilities:
Relationship Focus Nature and level of contacts within/outside the organization:
· Able to clearly and regularly communicate with VP Sales and Alliances that report into the Business Leader, as well as the HR Business Partner
· Work with remote teams (our BSC in Prague and India)
· Close co-ordination with other finance functions such as Procurement (addressing cost control/reduction)
