Purpose of role
This purpose of this role is to provide comprehensive support for the wide range of external tax submissions and internal deliverables; working closely with the GL team, the Business Unit Controllers, and the Tax Director. The role reports to the Tax Director as part of the global tax team.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- VAT and Other Indirect Tax Returns
- Work with internal tax team and KPMG in order to bring in-house as much of the VAT return preparation work as possible including VAT return submissions
- Provide external advisors with requested information to enable them to prepare the VAT, and other indirect tax filings, for the assigned countries
- Ensure indirect tax payments are made for assigned countries based on advice from local tax advisors and finance business partner
- Assist with tax audits/inspections for assigned countries
- Monitor & update KPMG Workflow tool for completion of the assigned milestones in respect of indirect tax filings and tax payments
- Additional tasks
- Work with other members of the Czech tax team as appropriate
- Ensure that the Company is in compliance with relevant tax regulations for the assigned countries, with advisor assistance
- Keep up to date with tax legislation changes in assigned countries
- Help identify opportunities for bringing indirect tax preparation work in-house
- Participate in tax related projects with UK based Tax Director
- Identify and implement tax process improvements, particularly in respect of the new Netsuite ERP system
Skills / Knowledge / Experience & Qualifications
- Knowledge of accounting procedures. IFRS ideally.
- Competent in MS word, Excel and Outlook
- A working knowledge of Netsuite, or other ERP is essential.
- Ability to manage and prioritise workload in order to meet strict deadlines.
- Proficient in English language and any other European language useful – spoken and written.
