We are seeking a Senior Data Analyst to focus on Engineering and Product-related data analytics. This role will be responsible for extracting, cleaning, and preparing data from multiple sources to provide insights into software delivery, product performance, and SDLC processes. The Senior Data Analyst will work closely with Engineering and Product leaders and stakeholders to define and track key metrics, ensuring dashboards and reports provide accurate visibility into delivery efficiency, quality, and business value.
Responsibilities:
- Extract, clean, and integrate data from Engineering, Product, and business systems.
- Develop and maintain dashboards in Power BI to visualize Engineering and Product metrics (e.g. velocity, throughput, cycle time, defect leakage, release success rate).
- Translate raw data into actionable insights to support decision-making across the SDLC and Agile delivery lifecycle.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Product stakeholders to define, refine, and align key performance indicators (KPIs), metrics and objectives.
- Ensure data quality, integrity, and alignment across reporting solutions.
- Document methodologies, assumptions, and data definitions to create consistency across engineering/product reporting.
- Provide ad-hoc and deep-dive analysis to support product planning, governance, and engineering performance reviews.
Requirements:
- A degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Business Analytics, or related discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in data analytics, preferably within software engineering, product, or SDLC environments.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and experience working with various data sources (e.g. Jira, Databases, Excel files, SharePoint, Git, CI/CD, Test management, release data).
- Advanced skills in Power BI for building interactive dashboards and reports.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to turn large datasets into insights, extract meaningful insights, and identify patterns and trends.
- Familiarity of SDLC or Agile practices, including common engineering/product metrics (e.g. epic delivery, velocity, quality trends).
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, able to collaborate with both technical and business teams.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and precision in data analysis and reporting.
- Experience with Python, R, or other statistical tools for advanced analytics is an asset.
