We use cutting-edge technology to link our clients’ systems, departments and sites. We provide an open technology platform that’s shaping the industry for the future. We use data to help clients become more efficient, increase profitability and give more customers an amazing experience. Want to be part of it?
Role Overview:
You will lead and directly supervise a team of 8 engineers within IT Enterprise Applications, ensuring robust delivery of integration and data platform services. You coach and develop team members, drive engineering quality, and translate strategic data objectives into day-to-day execution using Scrum best practices. You are the primary point of accountability for your team's output, stakeholder relationships, and continuous improvement across the integration and data estate. You work in close partnership with the DevOps, Architecture, and peer application Team Leads — this is a highly collaborative role that sits at the centre of the ITEA delivery model.

The Data & Integrations team owns and operates the following core platforms:

  • Snowflake – enterprise cloud data warehouse and data lake platform

  • MySQL – relational database services supporting operational workloads

  • Boomi – primary iPaaS integration platform; the strategic direction for all integration workloads going forward

  • Talend – current ETL/ELT pipeline tooling; actively being migrated onto Boomi as part of a platform consolidation programme

  • Power BI – business intelligence and reporting platform, consuming data from the Snowflake layer

The successful candidate will play an active role in driving the Talend-to-Boomi migration, working alongside Architecture and DevOps to deliver a consolidated, lower-complexity integration estate.

Roles & responsibilities

    Team Management

    • Lead and directly manage a team of 8 engineers across the Data & Integrations domain, setting clear objectives and maintaining high standards

    • Coach and mentor team members on both technical skills (data engineering, integration patterns, BI) and professional development

    • Provide clear, constructive input into performance reviews and remuneration decisions

    • Develop individual career plans using OKRs; hold regular one-to-ones for ongoing feedback

    • Promote a culture of teamwork, knowledge sharing, and psychological safety

    • Build credibility with the team — set expectations, provide support, and celebrate strong performance

    • Collaborate closely with the DevOps Team Lead, Architecture Lead, and peer application Team Leads as part of the wider ITEA leadership group

    Delivery & Quality

    • Drive delivery using Scrum best practices, maintaining sprint hygiene and predictable velocity

    • Own and coordinate release planning for team-owned integration and data services

    • Maintain quality standards across pipeline design, data modelling, and integration development

    • Monitor and continuously improve the stability, security, and performance of Snowflake, MySQL, Boomi, Talend, and Power BI estates

    • Lead the team's contribution to the Talend-to-Boomi migration programme, ensuring continuity of service during transition

    • Champion data governance practices — including data ownership, access control, cataloguing, and lineage — across the team's platforms

    • Lead incremental system improvements and identify technical debt for remediation

    • Encourage and enforce documentation and knowledge-sharing practices across the team

    Stakeholder Management

    • Act as the primary point of contact for the Data & Integrations team with business and IT stakeholders

    • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with peer teams, business sponsors, and application owners

    • Communicate team plans, risks, and progress clearly and in a way that is accessible to non-technical audiences

    • Escalate problems, blockers, and exceptions promptly to the Senior Director, ITEA

    • Support the broader IT strategy and foster a culture aligned with Keyloop's mission, vision, and values

    Operational Excellence

    • Support and lead incident investigation for integration failures and data pipeline incidents

    • Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for production issues; identify trends, weaknesses, and drive corrective actions

    • Ensure the team operates in compliance with GDPR and data residency obligations across all platforms handling personal or sensitive data

    • Maintain day-to-day vendor relationships with Boomi, Snowflake, and other platform providers — escalating issues and maximising value from licences and support agreements

    • Use delivery and quality metrics to drive continuous improvement across the team

    • Promote a results-driven, innovation-friendly team environment

    • Support hiring activities as required, including technical assessments and interviews
