Kobalt Music is seeking a Finance Assistant to join our Global Finance team. Reporting into the Senior Manager of Accounting, you will be part of the team responsible for performing accounting functions for our Publishing business unit. Functions are inclusive of journal entries, account reconciliations, and analysis to support the financial close as well as participating in the annual audit preparation. You will also also support the broader finance team with other ad-hoc tasks and projects as required.

WHAT DOES A FINANCE ASSISTANT AT KOBALT DO?

  • You execute month-end operations of the Publishing accounting department ensuring accurate results are delivered in a timely fashion; includes the preparation and postings of all revenue, cost of sales, and accrual journal entries and completion of reconciliations.
  • You monitor/reconcile intercompany transactions for multiple worldwide entities.
  • You collaborate with key finance business partners (FP&A, Tax, Legal, Client Affairs, and Publishing Operations) to ensure accuracy of accruals and account balances as well assist in cross-functional requests.
  • You liaise with external auditors to manage various annual audit requirements related to specific areas of responsibility including preparation of work papers and memos.
  • You will also provide support in ad hoc tasks and projects as required.

WHAT SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

  • You have excellent organisational and time management skills as well as great awareness of deadlines and competing priorities
  • You are a strong team player and communicator with ability to collaborate with various stakeholders
  • Bonus points for demonstrating strong Excel skills and aptitude for working with large volumes of numerical data.
  • Most importantly is that you can adapt to a fast-paced department as well as have an interest in obtaining an ACA/ACCA or CIMA qualification (Kobalt will support you through the qualification and cover any cost of study materials, course fees and exam entry fees plus you'll be entitled to between 1.5 to 2.5 days paid study leave days for your first attempt at any paper depending on level subject to a limit of ten days in any calendar year).
