About Us
KOSIGN is a recently-launched business within Kobalt Music Group, built to deliver premium global music publishing administration for today’s most independent and forward-thinking songwriters, producers, and artists. Developed by the team behind Kobalt’s industry-leading infrastructure - trusted by Max Martin, Phoebe Bridgers, Bon Iver, Paul McCartney, and more - KOSIGN brings transparency, flexibility, and control to the publishing process. We’ve built a modern platform tailored to artists and producers who want to stay in control and move fast.

The Opportunity
KOSIGN is looking for a Director of Marketing & Growth to lead our global market presence. This is a high-impact role designed for a strategic quarterback - someone who can build a world-class brand narrative while ensuring that every campaign, social post, and industry activation drives measurable business growth. You will act as a hands-on, creative-meets-analytical leader connecting KOSIGN's omni-channel marketing funnel with business development, product, and operations.

You will oversee the intersection of brand storytelling, product GTM, and revenue-focused marketing. You aren't just managing the brand; you are ensuring that KOSIGN’s premium identity is seamlessly connected to our business development engine, helping turn industry opportunities into onboarded clients.

This is a fast-paced role at the intersection of music, technology, and startups. The role will interface with the music industry, artists, and marketing partners. You’ll be part of a lean, high-impact team building something new within one of the most innovative music companies in the world. It’s a rare opportunity to directly help build the future of music publishing by ensuring artists, writers, producers, and the industry are informed and excited about what KOSIGN has to offer.

The Role

What You’ll Do

  • Quarterback the Funnel: Serve as the primary project manager connecting Paid Media, PR, Biz Dev, and Social to ensure a unified, conversion-oriented message across all touchpoints.
  • GTM Strategy & Execution: Own the Go-To-Market roadmap for new products and features. You won't just announce features; you will launch them with a focus on conversion, adoption, and revenue impact.
  • Drive Revenue Growth: Develop and execute a GTM strategy focused on high-intent lead generation and client acquisition, directly supporting the Biz Dev team’s targets.
  • Sales Enablement & Collateral: Create and optimize high-conversion assets (pitch decks, case studies, landing pages) that empower the sales/biz dev team to move prospects through the pipeline faster.
  • Performance-Led Content: Direct a content and social strategy that prioritizes product- and value-led storytelling, focusing on ROI and user acquisition over vanity metrics.
  • Strategic Sponsorships & Activations: Identify and manage industry sponsorships, ensuring every activation has a clear lead-capture mechanism and follow-up sequence.
  • Market Feedback Loop: Act as the bridge between the market (client sentiment) and the Product team to ensure our roadmap is aligned with what drives revenue.

What You’ll Bring

  • Direct experience leading marketing campaigns in the music technology industry, including paid, social, content, sponsored, PR, sales enablement, asset creation, and all other relevant marketing tactics and strategies.
  • A comprehensive understanding of the music industry marketing ecosystem including techniques, channels, customer cohorts, metrics, strategies, stakeholders, and tone.
  • Expertise with marketing technology including CRM platforms, analytics suites, content creation tools, media buying services, and reporting/analysis dashboards.
  • Proven success contributing to growth of a music technology startup from early stages to a maturing business.
  • Managerial experience overseeing social, content, paid, and other marketing staff (internal direct reports and external consultants)

Additional Skills That Could Add Value:

  • Experience with using AI for workflow optimization and automation
  • Partnership experience and a relevant contact list to expand our partnership footprint
  • Experience at a publisher, distributor, admin platform, management company, or record label

Interview Process

  • Round 1: Recruiting Team
  • Round 2: Head of KOSIGN
  • Round 3: VP Growth + Commerce
  • Marketing Presentation

What Success Looks Like

  • By Month 3: The Audit & Alignment Phase - Conduct a full diagnostic of the lead-to-close funnel, identifying friction points between brand awareness and client onboarding. You will have standardized the Biz Dev materials (decks, case studies, and sales assets) and established a data baseline for tracking Customer Acquisition Cost and Marketing Qualified Leads.
  • By Month 6: The Optimization Phase - Successfully execute the GTM strategy for 2+ major features, moving beyond announcements to measurable uptick in adoption and inbound inquiries. You will have optimized the connectivity between Paid Media and Biz Dev outreach, ensuring a repeatable, high-conversion path from first touchpoint to qualified lead.
  • By Year 1: The Scalable Engine Phase - Own a defined marketing-sourced revenue target and a scalable event playbook for industry activations that delivers a positive, traceable ROI. You will have closed the feedback loop between market sentiment and Product, ensuring KOSIGN’s roadmap is directly informed by what drives revenue and artist engagement.

Key Behaviours for Success

  • Data-Driven Decision Making - e.g. analyze campaign performance, funnel conversion rates, and user behavior data to inform decisions, rather than relying on intuition or vanity metrics
  • ROI Obsession. Every creative idea is met with the question: "How does this help us sign more creators?"
  • Operational Rigor. Exceptional at project management (quarterbacking); ensures the entire funnel is one continuous operation, from PR and paid, to acquisition and onboarding, all the way through product usage and support.
  • Sales Empathy. Deeply understands the friction points the Biz Dev team faces and builds marketing solutions to remove them.
