The Role

As a Senior Manager, Copyright and Writer & Publisher Relations, you will play a key role in bridging client service and copyright operations across the GSA region. You’ll be responsible for managing client relationships while ensuring the operational excellence of their catalogues.

This role is well suited to someone who combines strong industry knowledge with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset. You’ll work closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure accurate administration, high-quality client service, and continuous improvement across processes.

What You’ll Do

  • You act as the primary administrative point of contact for Kobalt clients, managing queries and internal coordination across accounts
  • You respond to client queries via Zendesk, with a focus on German-speaking clients
  • You partner closely with Creative teams to provide insights and updates on client performance
  • You oversee catalog management, ensuring accurate setup, registration, and ongoing administration
  • You work with local collection societies and represent Kobalt across relevant industry forums
  • You resolve complex copyright and royalty issues, maintaining strong relationships with external partners
  • You support pre- and post-statement processes to ensure timely and accurate delivery
  • You identify opportunities to improve workflows, processes, and operational efficiency
  • You track performance of new initiatives using key metrics and provide insight to stakeholders
  • You advise internal teams on local market nuances, copyright requirements, and deal setups

What You’ll Bring

Preferred:

  • Strong experience within music publishing, copyright, and client services
  • Deep understanding of copyright frameworks and collection societies within Germany, Austria, and Switzerland
  • Native-level German and professional fluency in English
  • Strong Excel skills, including working with large datasets, formulas, and analysis
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Additional Skills That Will Add Value:

  • Experience working with Zendesk or similar client service tools
  • A strong understanding of royalty flows and publishing systems
  • A proactive approach to process improvement and operational efficiency
  • Ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments across multiple markets

What Success Looks Like

By Month 3: You’ll have a strong understanding of Kobalt’s systems and processes, and confidently support client queries and copyright workflows
By Month 6: You’ll independently manage complex client accounts and copyright processes, providing clear insights to stakeholders
By Year 1: You’ll identify and implement process improvements that enhance client service and operational efficiency across the region
