The Role
As a Client Services & Copyright Assistant, you will be part of an international team responsible for managing Kobalt’s global song registration process. You’ll support the accurate registration of repertoire across East and South-East Asia, ensuring royalties flow correctly to our clients when their music is performed, broadcast, or streamed.
This role is ideal for someone with strong administrative and operational experience, a proactive mindset, and a genuine interest in music publishing, data, and systems. You’ll work across multiple time zones, collaborating with global teams to support efficient and accurate catalogue management.
What You’ll Do
- You collaborate across time zones with London and US-based Copyright teams, supporting song registration and conflict resolution processes
- You communicate with record labels, collection societies, and publishers across Asian territories to track and manage claims on Kobalt’s repertoire
- You maintain and optimise client account data, ensuring all relevant composition information is accurate prior to onboarding new agreements
- You support client onboarding and catalogue ingestion, ensuring a smooth and accurate setup process
- You work closely with Writer & Publisher Relations teams globally to support client administration, including registration submissions, dispute management, and catalogue maintenance
- You contribute to team projects, including compiling and distributing regional reporting such as Asia Song Charts
What You’ll Bring
Preferred:
- Strong administrative or operational experience, ideally working with data or systems
- Experience using Excel or similar tools to manage and analyse numerical data
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Cantonese, Mandarin, and English
- Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
- A proactive, self-motivated approach with strong organisation and prioritisation skills
- Ability to work to tight deadlines while maintaining a high standard of work

- Interest or experience in music publishing and copyright
- Experience working with databases or large datasets
- Exposure to working in a global or cross-functional environment
- Curiosity around systems, technology, and process improvement
What Success Looks Like
By Month 3: You’ll understand Kobalt’s systems and processes, supporting song registrations and client administration tasks
By Month 6: You’ll independently manage core workflows, ensuring accurate and timely catalogue updates
By Year 1: You’ll contribute to improving processes and supporting efficient catalogue management across the region
