Job Title: Senior Manager Engineering - Analytics
Essential Functions:
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of data and business intelligence engineers, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages innovation and growth. Conduct regular one-on-ones, performance reviews, and facilitate career development.
  • System Architecture & Best Practices: Establish and enforce best practices for Python, DBT, SQL coding, testing, deployment pipelines, security, and performance optimization. Drive continuous improvements in architecture to enhance scalability and reliability.
  • Hands-On Development: Participate in the planning, development and delivery of team initiatives while coordinating the activities of other team members. This includes serving as a role model and mentor for engineering/analytics best practices and stewardship of a high quality code base.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with other engineering teams, product managers, and infrastructure to align on project goals, operational excellence, and a clear ROI story for our product offerings.
  • Quality & Performance: Ensure high availability and reliability of the Analytics team ecosystem including the data warehouse, task orchestrator, storage, and business intelligence tools. Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, and implement monitoring and alerting systems.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks in projects and technical decisions, proposing mitigation strategies and contingency plans. Ensure the system is designed and controlled according to SOC2 and HiTrust certifications and meets HIPAA rules.

Minimum Requirements:
Specific Job Skills:
  • Ability to approach complex, ambiguous data challenges systematically. You can diagnose the problem, come up with a plan to address it, and see that plan through.
  • Experience owning data integrity, ensuring that data is reliable, timely, and traceable from source to consumption
  • A deep knowledge of data engineering (Airflow, Dagster, DBT, BigQuery, Snowflake, etc.), change data capture (Airbyte, Confluent, Fivetran), business intelligence (Looker, PowerBI, Tableau, etc.), and how end to end dataflows work.
  • A deep knowledge of building self service analytics tools and semantic modeling
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, and cloud-native API solutions.
  • Hands-on experience in leveraging AI agents and other AI tools to significantly enhance developer productivity.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines (CircleCI, Github Action), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and version control (Git), infrastructure as code (Pulumi, Terraform).
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage cross-functional teams and communicate complex technical details to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proven problem-solving abilities with a focus on delivering solutions in high-pressure environments.

  • Experience in the healthcare industry with a solid understanding of the healthcare ecosystem and data security compliance standard
  • Experience in building complex analytics platforms with a Data mesh architecture

Experience:
  • 8-12 years of data engineering experience, including hands-on technical experience building Analytic data pipelines, business intelligence dashboards and embedded analytic.
  • 5+ years of managing data engineering teams, with a proven leadership in managing large-scale, complex systems.

Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from a variety of both internal and external sources.
