Job Title: Vice President, Payer Sales
Job Summary:
RevSpring is seeking a highly accomplished, consultative, and results-driven Vice President,Payer Sales to join our health plan commercial leadership team. This is a player/coach role responsible for both directly owning and growing a portfolio of strategic payer clients and providing leadership, mentorship, and strategic guidance to a team of Account Executives.
The VP will be accountable for retention, renewal, and revenue expansion across a defined book of payer business while helping to elevate overall sales excellence, account strategy, and executive engagement across the payer segment. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in the U.S. payer landscape, value-based care dynamics, and healthcare reimbursement, along with a proven ability to build trusted C-suite relationships, drive complex enterprise sales, and lead high-performing teams.
Essential Functions:
Client & Revenue Leadership (Player)
  • Serve as the primary RevSpring executive lead and advocate for a portfolio of strategic payer (health plan) clients.
  • Build and maintain trusted advisor relationships with senior and executive stakeholders, including C-suite leaders.
  • Own renewal strategy, negotiate contracts, and lead complex expansion and upsell initiatives within assigned accounts.
  • Develop and execute Joint Strategic Account Plans that align RevSpring solutions with client goals and drive measurable business outcomes.
  • Lead client governance processes, including QBRs and executive check-ins, to ensure visibility into progress, performance, and strategic impact.
  • Monitor account health, proactively identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to protect and grow revenue.
Team Leadership & Coaching (Coach)
  • Act as a player/coach by directly managing key accounts while mentoring and coaching Account Executives on deal strategy, account planning, and executive engagement.
  • Provide guidance on complex sales pursuits, renewals, and escalations, helping elevate win rates and deal quality across the team.
  • Share best practices, industry insights, and proven approaches to strengthen payer sales capabilities and consistency.
  • Partner with sales leadership to support talent development, onboarding, and performance improvement initiatives.
Cross-Functional & Strategic Leadership
  • Partner closely with Delivery, Customer Success, Clinical, Product Marketing, and other internal teams to ensure successful implementation, optimization, and expansion of RevSpring solutions.
  • Stay current on payer market trends, competitive dynamics, regulatory changes, M&A activity, and client organizational shifts that may impact opportunities or account stability.
  • Serve as an internal and external subject matter expert on payer clients, the payer marketplace, and RevSpring’s value proposition.
  • Report portfolio performance, forecasted growth, pipeline health, and risk status to RevSpring executive leadership and investors.
Minimum Requirements:
Specific Job Skills:
  • Ability to develop and maintain senior-level, trusted advisor relationships with executives and C-suite stakeholders.
  • Strong consultative selling skills with a track record of driving retention, renewals, and upsell growth.
  • Deep understanding of payer buying processes, reimbursement models, and value-based care dynamics.
  • Proven ability to align internal teams and workstreams with customer strategic and operational objectives.
  • Executive presence with the ability to serve as a brand ambassador for RevSpring with customers and prospects.
  • Strong strategic thinking, communication, and influence skills across both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated success managing and expanding complex enterprise payer accounts with measurable revenue impact.
  • Prior experience in a leadership, mentoring, or player/coach capacity strongly preferred.
  • Willingness to travel as required (up to 25%).
Education: Bachelor’s Degree
Experience: 8+ years of progressive commercial experience in payer (health plan) client sales, Health IT, management consulting, and/or health system operations.

Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from a variety of both internal and external sources.
