Job Title: Continuous Improvement (CI) Specialist Job Summary The Continuous Improvement (CI) Specialist plays a key role in enhancing production efficiency, quality, and consistency by documenting processes, supporting operational changes, and driving Lean and Six Sigma–aligned improvements. This role partners closely with production leadership, engineering, and cross-functional teams to resolve issues, support testing efforts, and ensure process changes are clearly defined, validated, and communicated. The CI Specialist is hands-on within the production environment and serves as a critical link between strategy, execution, and continuous improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities Process Documentation & Improvement - Develop, maintain, and continuously improve comprehensive documentation for all production processes.
- Identify opportunities for process optimization using Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Facilitate and complete annual process reviews in collaboration with production leadership to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
Issue Management & Communication - Serve as a primary point of contact for incoming production issues, ensuring timely acknowledgment, escalation, and resolution.
- Coordinate with relevant teams (production, engineering, quality, IT, etc.) to track issues through closure.
- Communicate status updates, risks, and resolutions clearly to stakeholders.
On-Floor Production Support - Provide hands-on, on-floor support for process changes, equipment updates, and operational adjustments.
- Assist with implementation and stabilization of new or modified processes in the production environment.
- Observe workflows directly to identify inefficiencies, risks, or improvement opportunities.
Testing & Validation - Conduct day-to-day operational testing and actively participate in project-based testing initiatives.
- Gather testing requirements, execute test plans, document results, and report findings to project teams.
- Support user acceptance testing (UAT) and validation of process and system changes prior to full deployment.
Package Creation & Configuration Changes - Fulfill production package requests, including new package creation and changes to existing configurations.
- Proactively review and question package setups to ensure processing instructions are accurate, complete, and optimized.
- Partner with stakeholders to define proper processing logic for new or modified package configurations.
Qualifications Required Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred, or equivalent experience in a production or operations environment.
- Experience working in a production, manufacturing, or operations-focused environment.
- Strong process documentation and analytical skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks, priorities, and stakeholders simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications - Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies (certification a plus).
- Familiarity with production systems, workflow management tools, or manufacturing execution systems (MES).
- Experience supporting testing efforts or process validation initiatives.
- Comfort working hands-on in a production or operational setting.
