Job Title: Infrastructure Supervisor
Job Summary:
The Infrastructure Supervisor is a hands-on technical leadership role responsible for supervising day-to-day operations of the company’s enterprise infrastructure team and environment, including data center systems, networking, virtualization platforms, storage, and cloud integrations. This role partners closely with the Director of Data Center Operations and Engineering to execute infrastructure strategy, manage vendors, oversee budgets, and ensure reliable, secure, and scalable operations across the organization.
The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise combined with operational discipline, vendor coordination experience, and the ability to lead infrastructure initiatives in a mid-to-large enterprise environment
Essential Functions:
Infrastructure Operations & Technical Leadership
  • Supervise and support enterprise infrastructure operations, including servers, virtualization platforms, storage systems, networking, and data center environments.
  • Serve as a senior technical escalation point for complex infrastructure, network, and systems issues impacting production environments.
  • Oversee installation, configuration, maintenance, and upgrades of infrastructure components, ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Ensure infrastructure environments meet business continuity, disaster recovery, and availability requirements.
Network & Systems Engineering
  • Support and guide administration of LAN/WAN environments, firewalls, VPNs, routers, switches, and multi-site connectivity.
  • Oversee virtualization platforms (VMware vSphere, Nutanix, and related technologies), including capacity planning, performance optimization, and lifecycle management.
  • Coordinate storage, backup, and recovery operations to ensure data integrity and resiliency.
  • Collaborate with security teams to enforce access controls, segmentation, and infrastructure security best practices.
Vendor Management & Budget Support
  • Assist the Director with infrastructure budgeting, forecasting, and cost optimization initiatives.
  • Manage day-to-day vendor relationships, including hardware, software, cloud, telecom, and managed service providers.
  • Participate in vendor evaluations, contract renewals, and technology selection aligned with infrastructure strategy.
  • Track infrastructure assets, licensing, support agreements, and maintenance contracts.
Project Execution & Continuous Improvement
  • Lead or support infrastructure-related projects, including upgrades, expansions, migrations, and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Perform capacity planning and identify opportunities for infrastructure optimization and modernization.
  • Provide project status updates, documentation, and recommendations to leadership.
  • Contribute to roadmap development and execution for infrastructure technologies.
Documentation, Compliance & Operations
  • Ensure accurate documentation of infrastructure configurations, procedures, diagrams, and operational runbooks.
  • Support change management, incident response, and root cause analysis processes.
  • Maintain compliance with internal policies, security standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in on-call rotation and after-hours support as required

Minimum Requirements:
Specific Job Skills:
  • 10+ years of progressive experience supporting enterprise infrastructure environments with 2+ years in a supervisor or management role.
  • Strong hands-on experience with:
    • Enterprise networking (Layer 2/3 concepts, routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs)
    • Virtualization platforms (VMware vSphere and Nutanix)
    • Microsoft Server and Linux technologies and services
    • Data center operations and multi-site environments
    • Proven experience working with infrastructure vendors and service providers.
    • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
    • Availability to participate in on-call rotations and maintenance windows.
Preferred
  • Experience supporting medium to large data center environments.
  • Familiarity with Fortinet, Cisco, Dell, and similar enterprise platforms.
  • Experience with cloud services (Office 365, hosted infrastructure providers).
  • Exposure to storage platforms, backup solutions, and disaster recovery planning.
  • Infrastructure certifications (VMware, Nutanix, Cisco, Microsoft, or equivalent).
  • Prior experience with PCI-DSS, SOC2, NIST, or ISO auditing
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from a variety of both internal and external sources.
