As a Senior Staff Software Engineer on the Health Plan Applications and Services team, this role is responsible for developing the services that power the member-facing experience, ensuring existing systems remain robust while architecting the next generation of care guidance tools. The position offers the opportunity to write a significant amount of code, build deep expertise in system design, solve complex technical challenges, and provide technical leadership and mentorship across the engineering organization.

This role works primarily within a backend technology stack that includes Java, AWS, and OpenSearch. Collaboration with engineers and cross-functional partners across Product, Frontend Engineering, and Implementation is essential to delivering a seamless, high-performing user experience. Success in this position requires the ability to balance maintaining and optimizing established infrastructure with designing and building new services. The existing platform demands a disciplined, pragmatic approach to ensure reliability and performance while driving innovation through the development of next-generation healthcare solutions.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree

Experience: 10+ years of professional software engineering experience with a focus on backend development

Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from a variety of both internal and external sources.
