Senior Software Engineer (C++ and Windows, Visual Studio)

As a Senior Software Development Engineer in the IT Solutions Group, you will play a key role in developing and maintaining complex Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) production software. The role requires strong analytical skills, an unwavering commitment to quality, a collaborative work ethic, and cutting-edge technical expertise. This position will be responsible for managing applications that are complex, challenging, and exciting.
You will be part of a team in an agile environment, working closely with your team members, developers, architects, and other key stakeholders to implement functionality critical to our business success. At GoTo, our customers are our highest priority, and a customer-driven attitude is essential for resolving customer-reported issues in production.
Your Day to Day
You will be developing, testing, and maintaining clean, efficient, and reliable code for both Windows and Mac platform for our leading remote access product.
You will be collaborating with cross-functional teams to define, implement new features for native Windows and Mac applications.
You will be ensuring seamless integration of user interface elements and optimal user experiences for desktop applications.
You will be participating in code reviews, debugging, and performance optimization to enhance application functionality.
You will be working independently and effectively. You will also be demonstrating a strong sense of ownership and teamwork.
You will work in a scrum team following test-driven development principles.
What we are looking for
Preferred qualifications include a bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
Possess a minimum of 6+ years of software development experience in C, C++, and Swift on the Windows/Mac platform.
Demonstrate proven experience with Win32 (Multithreading, UI), Windows Internals (Process, Thread, User Session, Windows Services, Registry).
Exhibit a strong understanding of Windows Internals (Process, Thread, User Session, Windows Services, Registry).
Showcase a strong working knowledge of Networking, DLLs, and Object-Oriented Design (OOD).
Have hands-on experience with Visual Studio 2013 (and above), Xcode, and GCC IDEs.
Be proficient in C, WIX, COM programming languages.
Possess knowledge of bash commands.
Showcase experience with version control, build, and bug tracking systems such as Jenkins, BitBucket, and JIRA.
Demonstrate a sound understanding of data structures, software architecture, and design patterns.
Showcase strong software engineering experience, analytical, and troubleshooting skills, including thorough knowledge of the entire development lifecycle.
Exhibit expertise in agile and scrum development cycles.
Experience with AppDynamics, Logic Monitor, and Splunk will be an added advantage.
