The position will be on-site at our Newark, Delaware office (131 Continental Dr. Suite 305 Newark DE 19713).
Position Summary
Sr Manager, Jurisdictional Operations and Compliance serves as the senior operations leader and the official representative for LegalZoom with the Delaware Secretary of State (SOS). Based in our Newark office, you will provide direct oversight of all Delaware filing operations, ensuring the seamless execution of high-volume formations and compliance activities for our most significant enterprise partners, including Stripe and GoDaddy. A primary mandate of this position is the successful execution and maintenance of passing status for the Delaware Division of Corporations audits, ensuring our standing as a Registered Agent remains uncompromised. You will lead the stabilization of Delaware operations through rigorous data reconciliation of phantom entity appointments and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) risk management, while architecting scalable processes that can be deployed across other complex jurisdictions like Wyoming.

You Will
- Delaware Operations Leadership: Directly lead and oversee a team responsible for the day-to-day execution of high-volume Delaware filings, ensuring 100% accuracy and strict adherence to statutory deadlines.
- Secretary of State (SOS) Representation: Act as the primary professional liaison and representative for LegalZoom with the Delaware Secretary of State; manage formal government relations to monitor legislative shifts in the Delaware General Corporation Law and advocate for filing workflow enhancements.
- Audit Ownership & Compliance Sovereignty: Serve as the ultimate accountable lead for the Delaware Corporation Information Systems (DCIS) audit; design and enforce the internal controls and record-keeping structures required to ensure a consistent passing status.
- Enterprise Fulfillment Strategy: Direct the jurisdictional fulfillment lifecycle for high-stakes enterprise partners, ensuring that all filing activities meet rigorous Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and support the business continuity of our partners.
- Offshore Vendor Strategy & Management: Architect and manage an offshore vendor ecosystem to support data-intensive reconciliation and back-office operations. You will be responsible for vendor performance management to ensure outputs meet domestic regulatory and audit standards.
- Scalable Process Engineering: Transform manual jurisdictional workflows into standardized, operational playbooks designed for rapid implementation in other complex jurisdictions.
- Regulatory Risk Architecture: Oversee the continuous screening of entity data against OFAC standards; act as the final authority on risk correlation and complex escalations in partnership with Executive Legal leadership.
- Data Integrity & Reconciliation: Lead large-scale efforts to synchronize internal system data with state records, utilizing offshore resources to identify and resolve unauthorized "phantom" registered agent appointments.
You Have
- Jurisdictional Mastery: 10+ years corporate formations experience, with a proven track record of managing Delaware-specific filing nuances for customers and businesses.
- Operations Leadership: Demonstrated experience leading high-volume filing teams where operational precision and regulatory compliance are the primary drivers of success.
- Enterprise Operations Experience: Significant experience managing jurisdictional fulfillment for large-scale, platform-based partners where business continuity is non-negotiable.
- Strategic Outsourcing Expertise: Proven success in designing and managing offshore vendor workstreams for compliance, reconciliation, and audit support.
- Systems & Process Architecture: Ability to design scalable operational frameworks that bridge technical systems and human-led compliance processes.
- Government Relations Acumen: Exceptional skills in formal communication and professional advocacy within state-level regulatory environments.
The salary range for this role is $139,800 - $223,700. Actual compensation offered will depend on several factors including but not limited to: geographic location, work experience, education, skill level, and/or other business and organizational needs. In addition, an annual bonus, incentive bonus and/or restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package.
