The Database Manager IT is responsible for the direct supervision of the database team which includes all database technologies such as SQL, Oracle, MongoDB, SQL Server and others.

Database Manager IT is responsible for ensuring deliverables are deployed in a timely manner and according to published team standards. Responsible for introducing and maintaining highly repeatable reliable processes, as well as supporting standard and for establishing and leading highly performing, appropriately skilled technical teams.
  • Possess excellent mentoring, leadership, time management and project management skills

  • Administer, maintain, tune, and troubleshoot Oracle databases to provide high availability and

reliability to the databases and applications running on them.

  • Manages complex system administration and/or development.

  • Responsible for supervision and coordination of all technical staff within their area of responsibility.

  • Ability to assess existing database environments, develop migration strategies, and execute the

  • Migration process while minimizing downtime and ensuring data integrity.

  • Demonstrated experience in providing managed services for cloud-based databases.

  • Proven ability to work with clients or internal stakeholders to understand their database.

  • Requirements, develop service level agreements (SLAs), and deliver high-quality managed.

  • Strong familiarity with cloud-native database technologies, such as OCI, AWS, or Azure DB.

  • Participates in cross functional design and development efforts to ensure optimal end to end

solutions.

  • Provides mentoring and career planning and promotes employee satisfaction.

  • Defines and promotes standards for coding, testing, deployment to Production.

  • Defines and ensures compliance of standards for building systems and configuring operating

systems.

  • Defines and ensures security compliance.

  • Supports published business Service Level Agreements.

  • Provides guidance to technical team and clarifies project scope and objectives.

  • Directs revision of existing programs and/or infrastructure components to increase operating efficiency or adapt to new requirements.

  • Prepares proposals and reports as needed for senior management.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with

  • Technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Proficiency in managing database-related incidents and problems. Experience in leading incident response teams, performing root cause analysis, and implementing preventive measures to avoid recurring issues. Familiarity with IT service management frameworks like ITIL is a plus

Experience

  • 12-16 years in Oracle database administration

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's/Master’s degree in computer science, system analysis, or equivalent experience
