Windows System Engineer to support day to day tasks, patching and collaborate with team on projects.Job Description:
Experience in remote installation (build), configuration, and troubleshooting of Windows 2012, 2016, 2019, and 2022 servers, Minimum one year of experience in PowerShell scripting for automation of OS tasks and installations, good working knowledge of HP and Lenovo server-level hardware Extensive group policy and active directory understanding. Troubleshooting experience on Windows servers for performance issues and stability Troubleshooting hardware and software issues as they arise and providing root cause analysis Hands-on experience with automated tools for deploying patches and antivirus software like Crowdstrike, etc. Installation and configuration of IIS and SQL servers.
Working under limited supervision, the system engineer and production support engineer are responsible for the day-to-day operation of servers. Responsibilities include executing procedures for the maintenance of product infrastructure and delivery infrastructure.
Essential Responsibilities:
Contribute to the development of SOPs and work instructions for the maintenance of IT systems if and as required.
Automate administration tasks.
Assist in the installation and maintenance of production and mission-critical systems according to SOPs and work instructions.
Maintain system documentation and SOPs if and as required.
Assist in performing upgrades and applying patches.
Recommends remedial actions to correct problems based on knowledge of system operation.
Security Vulnerability remediation.
Following change control procedures.
Required professional and technical expertise:
4+ years of system administrative experience supporting the development, testing, and production environments.
1+ years of relevant experience in the VMware environment
1+ years of relevant experience in the Azure environment
Knowledge of Linux operating systems
Advanced knowledge of server software
Extensive group policy and active directory understanding
PowerShell scripting and support
Understanding security practices and implementation
Advanced knowledge of build and deployment automation
Self-motivated and able to work independently with a minimum amount of direction
Effective time management, being adaptable to changing priorities, and being capable of managing multiple projects on the same timeline
Drives a customer-focused culture committed to continuous improvement
Eager to learn new skills, technology, and software applications
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
Proficient in troubleshooting and problem-solving methodologies
